  1. But on the flip side, if he does that, it might convince the board to keep him as our main striker for next season...
  2. Just scored a neat solo goal against Bremen.
  3. Can't wait for us to fuck up another chance again...
  4. It's all about having quick feet and moving across, IMO. Jovic could have easily head the goal to his right and had Kepa stood a tad more to his left, we would be sitting here wondering why he's there.
  5. Might argue that the header bouncing off the ground did him in but I would say Kepa needs to work out on his feet. He seems to have a tendency to jump a little before diving to make saves. Could have prevented some of the long range goals were it not for those split-second jumps. Also, why was Jovic given all that time and space? Luiz could see him all the way in the buildup but didn't get close enough to put pressure on him.
  6. Prime Terry would struggle less considering he wouldn't turn like a tank compared to Old Terry.
  7. Miss the times when we were actually capable of those back-to-the-wall performances to get a result in the really tough games!
  8. We did? I don't recall that. Even then though, we still looked capable of defending back then. These days, we look like a bunch of headless chickens in defensive situations.
  9. I'd say we defended well as a team under Conte, especially in the first season.
  10. But Terry never looked the part in a high line, did he? He might have fared better than Luiz but he was always prone to making errors at the back if you put balls in behind him.
  11. Why do a team that score many goals always have to be classified as playing "attacking football"? A team can play good football and be ruthless/efficient with their opportunities, which we were back in 2009/10. If you look deeper into the numbers, the 103 goals were inflated because of 4 matches - the 7-2, 7-1, 7-0 and 8-0. If you put that down to regular scores, we would have ended up with the usual goals scored number of a league champion. And for argument's sake, you want to call it attacking football? Fine. But attacking football doesn't mean teams have to play a high line, press the opponent high up the pitch etc.
  12. We never played open, attacking football under Ancelotti. We were efficient and ruthless that season but we never played a high defensive line, pressed high up the pitch, left the players exposed all the time.
  13. Chelsea 3-0 Watford PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2018/19 Premier League Match 37 5th May, Sunday, 2019 Stamford Bridge 14:00 Kick Off (UK time)
  14. Ironic that you mentioned Luiz/Christensen played in a system that protected their weaknesses and then tried to compare them with Terry/Carvalho, who both also played in a defensive system. Remember what happened when Terry played under AVB?
  15. That would have been an absolutely fair point had Luiz/Christensen not been part of Conte's XI in the past...
  16. In general, we're no longer capable of doing the one thing we've always been good at - defending. Guess that's Sarriball for you...
  17. Which is crap considering Hazard publicly declared that we WILL qualify for the Champions League on Sunday.
  18. That says a lot about him than anything or anyone else, TBH. But at this point, I don't really care too much anymore. Top 4 or the Europa League...JUST BLOODY QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!
  19. Hope that's solely down to Sarri not starting him. His words at the weekend painted a different picture. So, you're saying that he's upset over Sarri not starting him...?
