Not saying their injuries haven't had an impact but it's still no excuse for what we've been seeing on the pitch. And it's not as if Lukaku was dominating teams etc before they got injured either.

Not necessarily saying they are the answers but Abraham and Werner got sacrificed for doing more than Lukaku. The latter is like a ghost on the pitch if he doesn't pop up with the goals. Heck, even Havertz gets shafted around to accommodate him.

This is where we're at, huh? None of those 7 touches were in Palace's box. In fact, he had 1 more in ours than theirs!

At this point, Tuchel feels more like a modern and non-controversial Mourinho.

Lukaku has more of a physical presence about him than Werner or even Havertz. So not surprised if we can get more into the box with him upfront but his deficiencies mean that we have other problems when he plays upfront. And not to mention, our play feels bloody predictable with him such as just spamming crosses into the box. Teams generally sit deep against us anyway and we tend to dominate possession as well. So, not surprised if teams don't push up against us.

Maybe we were but I just disagreed with the notion that we were by far the better team. Dominated the game but barely created much and we were minutes away from another potential CWC disaster.

Have seen reports of such kind. It seems like Mourinho is already losing the plot. The downturn that comes with him is happening earlier and earlier these days. Doesn't even guarantee trophies anymore.

If by attacking thrust, you mean holding the ball up (something he doesn't even do well most of the time, despite his physique etc) and pinning the defenders back, then sure.

They fashioned better chances that we did, especially in the first half, even if they fluffed their lines in the end. It's less about the trophies and more about something else that people have spent ages complaining about.

Oh right. Forgot about the cup final. So, it's gonna be hell somewhere down the line if we go far in the FA Cup and CL.

Not sure if we were by far the better team. No surprise that we looked to control and they looked to counter. But they arguably had the better chances to score in the first half. Had they have a tad more quality, we could have easily been punished. We looked clueless going forward again. Gonna be interesting if we run into the big teams in the Champions League.

I know we won but can we complain or no? Was just talking to another fan that I didn't understand that placement of players in the attacking setup. Werner was out wide. Havertz was through the middle. Pulisic was the No.10. It felt as though their positions should have been swapped around but then again, I guess Tuchel doesn't do logic. The only ironic thing was Werner actually looked dangerous on the LW as the game went on late on. Was arguably the only one providing any sort of attacking threat.
