  1. Said it in another thread, it feels like Lampard is being "forced" to play Kepa because of his price tag. If he had cost 7 million and not 70 million, he would have been sent to rot elsewhere by now. At this point, the club just need to accept the financial loss from this Kepa mistake and move on OR Lampard needs to grow a pair and bin Kepa for good. At the rate it's going, Kepa is going to cost us more on the pitch than off the pitch!
  2. Pretty sure Barkley pushed for the move to boost his own chances of going to the Euros with England.
  3. He may not have put a foot wrong since then but let's not kid ourselves here considering he has played only against West Brom and Crystal Palace in the league. West Brom, once they got the 3-0 lead, were happy to just sit back and defend that lead. They didn't even bother to have a go at us. Crystal Palace are hardly an adventurous side under Roy Hodgson. They set up defensively and just tried to play on the counter. Long story short, West Brom and Palace have hardly been challenging opponents for Silva given how pragmatic they were. Assuming he plays both, the Sevilla and Man United games will give a better indication of whether he is an upgrade or will he just be inconsistent in this team.
  4. And they came back to win 4-1. Still "little easier" to swallow?
  5. So this is where we're at now? Measuring Tomori against Piazon with him as a barometer? But Greenwood is not exactly a winger is he? Abraham was only 20 and playing in his first season in the Premier League. Hardly a surprise he struggled, especially in a terrible team like Swansea were back then. More top performances but what else? Has Kovacic gotten more creative? Has Kovacic provided more assists or scored more goals?
  6. He's been involved in three 3-3 draws over the last month. Must be frustrating indeed.
  7. And yet, he can't get into the starting XI ahead of Christensen. But is he really developed enough to succeed at the highest level? And also, great confidence shown by Lampard to go out and buy another striker... That is highly debatable. Kovacic was in and out of the team and Willian was consistently inconsistent. Better all rounder but at what cost? What even is Mount's best position now? What is Mount really good at apart from his workrate?

  9. If the individual in your mind is Pulisic, don't...it doesn't really count when it's only one player.
  10. Nobody associated with Chelsea wants to see Lampard fail at the club but at the moment and based on what we've seen so far, it feels like Lampard is just another of those typical English or British managers we've seen over the years - someone who is a good communicator and/or man manager but not very good when it comes to the tactical side of the game and/or coaching.
  11. Next 6 games before the November international break: Sevilla (h) Man United (a) Krasnodar (a) Burnley (a) Rennes (h) Sheffield United (h) How many wins from those games...?
  12. And we went on to concede only 39 league goals that season under Sarri, which is 15 less than last season despite the heaviest loss being 4-0.
  13. Wouldn't be against a bit of Sarriball right now, where we just pass the ball around to death. Might actually help us from pressing the self destruct button!
  14. Long gone are the days when we feel safe after going 2-0 or even just 1-0 up!
  15. I get the feeling that Lampard is "forced" to play Kepa because of the price tag. Either the board just need to accept the financial loss with Kepa and move on or Lampard shows some balls and just drops Kepa for good. Because at this rate, Kepa will cost us any success on the pitch more than any financial loss and may even cost Lampard his job too!
  16. 159 goals conceded in 119 games in Lampard's managerial career. 70 goals conceded in 57 games at Derby. 89 goals conceded in 62 games at Chelsea. 1.3 goals conceded per game.
  17. But who is the one that keeps picking Kepa? Or Christensen? Who is the one that set the team up and sit off Southampton instead of going for the kill? Again, where was this "individual errors" excuse under previous managers? Because I don't recall seeing it being used so often like it is now...
  18. Why are the individual errors not ironed out (as much as possible)? Who is the one that keeps picking players that regularly make mistakes? Why, knowing that we don't do well under pressure, did we sit back and invite pressure against Southampton in the second half after the way we played in the first? And was the "individual errors" excuse used as much under previous managers? Only seems to be used A LOT under Lampard...
  19. So, just start better and not win?

  21. At this point, I'm more concerned about what the F are we gonna do in defence! There really is no point in having all these nice attacking players when we can't stop leaking goals at the back!!
