  1. 6 goals in 6 Premier League games for Bamford. Not bad... (cc @Tomo )
  2. Looks like Pulisic will have a USMNT game to contend with (against Wales in Wales) in November... https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4215338/usmnt-to-visit-wales-for-november-friendly-clash
  3. Pretty sure they would still be counted as wins. They just might have an asterisk beside it to indicate it's won in extra time or on penalties.
  4. Sevilla ended Bayern's 22-game win streak? They didn't. They drew with them after 90 minutes but still ended up losing within 120 minutes in the Super Cup anyway.
  5. As a winger, definitely not one but all the constant chopping and changing has not allowed him to settle in on one position and develop there properly so that we can say whether that is his best or not best position etc.
  6. It's not that with Mount, is it? Even last season, Mount was played on the LW, #10, RW in a 4-2-3-1 OR LW, CM, RW in a 4-3-3 or one of the front 3 attacking players in a back 3 system. Can any of us confidently sit down here and say Position X is the best position for Mount? Do we even know what his best position actually is?
  7. I don't think we'll see Cech in the matchday squad if the other 3 keepers are available. Putting Cech now as the #2 on the bench ahead of Kepa and Caballero would just create unnecessary drama.
  8. Am guessing he doesn't want to make the left side too attack minded with Chilwell and Pulisic? Although that doesn't really make sense since James isn't exactly a defensive full back and would think the long term plan is to have Ziyech and James on that right side, which is hardly defensive minded side.
  9. His presser starts from 11:52 here...
  10. No. Playing Werner on the LW, with him operating like a winger is just stupid. We would just be wasting his qualities, might as well have not bought him. If we're gonna play Werner on the left side, then it should be when we play a back 3 system and not a back 4.
  11. Can't wait till we get another manager who will bin Mount like Conte did with Oscar! In all honesty, I wonder whether it has crossed Lampard's mind that all this constant chopping and changing of Mount's position has damaged his development as a player. As Tomo has mentioned a few times, Mount was known to score goals and provide assists at Vitesse (and I think he did the same at youth level too?) but those qualities have seemingly gone out of his game under Lampard. How can a young player develop if he's being constantly being moved around and learning A one week, B next week and then C the following week? Instead of talking about qualities such as scoring goals, providing assists, creativity etc - the kind of qualities that really define the best attacking players - about Mount, we're talking about his energy, workrate, pressing and all that - qualities that make Mount a functional player but nothing more. Not that those qualities are bad - teams do need some players like that - but at the same time, they also kinda make players like that very replaceable.
  12. In a back 3 system, think it's fine to play Werner on the left on the front 3 because he'll operate much closer to the striker position (as opposed to wide on the flanks in a back 4 system). He played there for Leipzig and has done the same for Germany too, I believe. In fact, I'm kinda curious to see if we'll use Werner alongside alongside Abraham or Giroud, who he can play off with like he did with Poulsen at Leipzig.
  13. Mendy's presser tomorrow (Thursday) at 5pm UK time... https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/10/21/watch-edouard-mendy-and-hakim-ziyech-press-conferences-live
  14. Ziyech's presser tomorrow (Thursday) at 1pm UK time. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/10/21/watch-edouard-mendy-and-hakim-ziyech-press-conferences-live
  15. No point talking about transfers now. Lampard has to somehow make it work until at least January...
  16. We showed that a few times last season as well TBF - e.g. Liverpool (in FA Cup), Spurs, Man City (h). But as I posted yesterday, the big question is whether we can find the balance in defence and offence without sacrificing one or the other. At the moment, we either look good offensively but rubbish defensively or rubbish offensively but good defensively.
  17. Yes but have the Premier League made adjustments to the rules? Because AFAIK, clubs can only sign an emergency keeper if all the keepers are out due to injury. Nothing has been said whether clubs can do that due to the COVID-19 cases, which is what the club have stated in regards to registering Cech. In any case, too lazy to sit here and debate whether Cech is the actual back-up or just the emergency cover. At least we don't lose anything from the situation. As for the two names you mentioned, we signed Hedman because of the head injury to Cech back then and Mourinho wanted a cover to Cudicini and Hilario - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6145372.stm while we signed Amelia because Begovic was the only experienced backup to Courtois back in 2015 - https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10021333/chelsea-agree-to-sign-former-ac-milan-keeper-amelia - after Courtois got injured.
