  1. Like I said, you're being overly paranoid.
  2. Mendy and Silva have both been great but the former has made the biggest difference to the team defensively, IMO.
  3. Also, not sure how missing chances equate to being low on confidence, especially when it's been only 2 games. Do you know Werner personally to know that? Yes, it's frustrating to see Werner fluffed his lines in the last two games but at the same time and for example, he also went and created that second goal at Newcastle on the counter attack with the searing pace of his. Strikers, players etc miss chances. It happens and happens to even the best. As long as Werner continues to score more than he misses, I don't see why there should be a concern and I think his career numbers so far back that up. Would be more concerned if he wasn't getting at the end of chances or if he was shirking away after missing a chance. Rather than let it affect him, he usually just dusts himself off and go again, try to get at the of chances and score.
  4. Don't disagree that Werner needs a rest but if Lampard didn't rest him against Rennes, what makes you think he will do that against Spurs? Also, how exactly are CHO and Pulisic safer options right now? For one reason or another, Lampard has barely played CHO much at all and with Pulisic, it's worth remembering that he played a few games before his last injury and he didn't quite manage to rediscover his last season form. Unlikely he'll do so all of a sudden immediately coming off from a setback and given his hamstring problem has been problematic, I highly doubt Lampard will just throw him straight into the starting XI in a big game. Didn't even do it last time against Palace. Came on as a sub then.
  5. Judging by Lampard's recent comments about Mount, he probably has a burner account or two on social media (no, not his IG account). He seems to be in tune with what's being said...
  6. Think the players were tired. Most only returned last Thursday, then had to travel to Newcastle for the early Saturday kick off and had only two days after that to rest, recover and travel to France for this game. At least the players now have 4 days between this and Sunday. On the plus side though, the team least didn't collapse despite looking gassed after 30 minutes. Restricted Rennes to only half chances at best. Might have lost this game last season. And it's also nice to have a goalkeeper in goal for a change!
  7. @killer1257, you said people treat Werner like he's Ronaldo. Yeah, look what has happened after the last 2 games. So many hate all of a sudden...are you happy?
  8. Think people are gonna be disappointed if they expect Pulisic to start this Sunday. Also, two below-par games and suddenly people are having their pitchforks out for Werner...
  9. Chelsea 0-0 Spurs PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2020/21 Premier League Match 10 29th November, Sunday 2020 Stamford Bridge 16:30 Kick Off (UK time)
  10. Think the point is that the opposition defence can push up against us if Giroud is playing upfront because they know he doesn't have the pace to run past them for a ball over the top etc.
  11. Top 5 Most Used Players This Season: 1. Werner - 1,224 mins 2. Zouma - 1,199 mins 3. Mount - 1,050 mins 4. Kante - 1,017 mins 5. Chilwell - 946 mins Excluding Zouma (because he's a CB), Werner has played almost at least 2 games more than anyone else and it's not even December yet! He's gonna need a break soon...
  12. At the risk of sounding like I'm making excuses for Werner (lol), would also say the pass for the second miss just missed the mark. Was a bit behind him and he had to moved back slightly to shoot, plus the keeper was also quick to shut him down. He scored from the same position from a much more accurate pass at Burnley.
  13. Werner scores a goal - "Yay. Okay, we move on..." Werner misses a chance - "Oh no, it's concerning!" Not saying he shouldn't have scored at least twice in these last two games but some of the (over)reaction I have seen to his misses are hilarious.
  14. A win would of course be great but given the game is at Sevilla, a draw isn't the worst result. Moreover, if Krasnodar are already through to the Europa League or out of the Champions League by then, then they have nothing to play for when they come to the Bridge.
  15. Excellent defensive work and pass for the first goal. Even Fabregas was impressed!
  16. Wouldn't mind taking the same result though!
  17. Permutations against Sevilla: Win and we win the group. Draw and all goes down to MD6. A score draw will give us the H2H advantage, if finish level on points. A 0-0 draw would mean the overall GD come into equation, if finish level on points. Lose and Sevilla will win group.
  18. Not if they lose to Krasnodar next week.
  19. We aren't even into December and Lampard is already trying to "kill" Werner...
  20. The whole team just look gassed now. Thank god we have Mendy in goal but won't be surprised if Rennes eventually get their equalizer.
