  1. Nobody has anything to say about Werner? 🤣 Super delighted that he finally ended his goal drought and got the goal that he deserved. Said it before and will say it again, has looked so much better recently playing in his natural position. Even when he's not scoring, he's impacting games in other ways way more than in his previous winger role. Already contributed a number of assists and won 7 penalties this season. Also, any comparison with Morata and Torres is fucking stupid and lazy. Yes, Werner has missed chances but unlike those two, Werner has always kept going, kept getting at the end of chances, kept trying to impact games. He's never hid like those two and unlike Morata, he doesn't fall over easily, moan to referees about decisions going against him or moan to the media about how he's not loved/why no one is passing to him etc. If you have seen Werner's interviews, you can tell that he has a good mentality, attitude and humility about him. Those personal attributes can go a long way to helping a player become successful.
  2. TBF, De Bruyne was quite young back then but I definitely don't agree that Mourinho should have binned of course. Otherwise, I agree with you. Think a lot will come down to what happens in the summer really because we definitely need to reshape the squad a little.
  3. Said it before, Kovacic is one frustrating player because I believe he has the ability and talent to do so much more than what he has shown pre-Tuchel. If Tuchel can make him be more decisive going forward - feels like he's already played more forward/dangerous passes into the attacking third under Tuchel than before - then he might actually become a world class player.
  4. While Kepa did not make any blunders tonight, not sure if we should be praising him for simply doing his job, the most basic stuff against Newcastle. Not when he's the most expensive keeper in history.
  5. I do agree that we're overloaded with attacking options but can't be bad to have options? Feel like Havertz can also play the False 9/ST role and it's also up to the others to step up and do better. It's not like Pulisic and Ziyech are playing well at the moment to deserve complaining about the lack of playing time. They haven't done enough all this season. And when Tuchel plays with a back 4, one more attacking space will open up. The back 3 might be a short term solution for now and might become a more occasional thing next season.
  6. Yes? Am sure there are many Chelsea fans out there who worry Kepa will concede a goal when the opposition take a shot, regardless of whether it's good or bad. We don't need that uncertainty in defence. And worth remembering that he conceded a stupid goal recently against Luton. Going by Tuchel's post-match comments, it seems like he only played Kepa tonight because it was Newcastle, one of the most toothless sides in the league. Had that say been one of the top 10 sides, Mendy would have played. Tuchel said he wants to give a fresh start to everyone but at the same time, I would also like to think he's not stupid or blind on why players like Kepa, Alonso weren't playing much at all under Lampard.
  7. Yup and we have some really big, tough teams to play. Atletico, Man United, Everton, Liverpool etc.
  8. Mendy over Kepa any day. At least we know Mendy is not gonna drop random blunders or he will save shots that he should be saving.
  9. Okay mate, I liked that you came back but I now want you gone again! 🤣 Really though, you're kinda exaggerating there. The real test for these players, especially the new signings, will be next season. Yes, they have been bad but I also feel it's kinda hard to judge them all in some ways because of how crazy this season has been. Let's see what happens next season when we will have hopefully something more like a usual season - pre-season, no crazy packed schedule etc.
  10. Exactly. Kepa was barely tested because Newcastle were partly awful going forward. Imagine the scenes if Kepa starts against Atletico and he makes a blunder (we know he's more than capable of making one) and costs us the match!
  11. Pretty sure Kepa's save stats under Sarri weren't great reading either. And if we want to be a serious team, one that is properly challenging for major trophies, we shouldn't be changing the goalkeeper week in week out. You choose one and stick with him. Only change if the #1 goes off the rail.
  12. Just wait until Alonso drops a clanger or two and then Tuchel will see why he was out of the team to begin with.
  13. Tuchel just said Mendy is his No.1 keeper.
  14. Good first half. So-so second half. Should have scored more but the final ball was lacking again. Also did well enough to not make any cock-ups at the back (THANK GOD!).
  15. Only god fucking knows. Mendy has 3 clean sheets in 4 games under Tuchel and the one goal he conceded was a Rudiger brainfart. Hasn't done much wrong elsewhere too and suddenly gets dropped. This selection reeks of the board getting involved one way or another.
  16. Tuchel has really put himself in an awkward position, regardless of how Kepa does tonight.
  17. Pretty sure it's a back 3/5 with CHO at RWB again.
  18. It's quite pathetic that the board (used to) give up easily on young players while giving up ample of opportunities to big signings even though they have proven to be flops!
  19. LOL Said it before, this is one of the problems when we get a new manager in, especially mid-season...
