The worst thing about this is places Sky Sports, BT Sport, TalkSport constantly have pundits who just give hot takes and no proper analysis, insight to get clicks and likes week in week out. It's no different to fans who do the same on social media and the only difference is the fans use foul language or profanities instead. What those hot takes ended up doing is just stoking the fire on teams, players, managers and giving the fans "food" to jump on them. This is less common but there are also media sites - e.g. Goal, Daily Mail - that indirectly give fans the platform to be braver in abusing others by gathering their tweets to make articles over incidents that happen during a match or whatever. If the article is on something good/happy, then fine. But if isn't, then again, it just add more fuel to the fire on the subject out there.

Classic NikkiCFC post. 🤣

Think it'll be Pulisic and Werner will be saved for City few days later. Also don't think we want to see him (possibly?) miss another big chance again, for his sake and our sake...
-
Was on BBC... Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has kept more clean sheets (11) than any other manager in Premier League history from their first 15 games in charge in the competition.
-
Saw this on BBC... Mason Mount (five goals, two assists) and Timo Werner (two goals, five assists) have been involved in more Chelsea goals under Tuchel than any other player.
-
Is this not the norm of the games we've had under Tuchel anyway?
-
Too lazy to check now but think he's now also one of the very few players at the club (can only be sure of Hazard) to have hit double figures in Goals and Assists in a season in the last few seasons?
-
I really don't understand this tendency of people to write Werner off - or just a player off in general - after one season. Is there a quota to fill or something? Has he been great? No. But he hasn't been completely hopeless either. His numbers also suggest that he's been doing something right. And before I get called out for being a Werner apologist again, I also defended Pulisic last season when people were questioning him and back then, it was probably worse when we had people saying he should be loaned out!

It's not about Matic specifically. It's about having another defensive midfielder along with Kante. We literally do not have one when Kante isn't playing. You see how flimsy our midfield is today without a defensive player in midfield and we have had to risk Kante here.
-
We really have not replaced Matic after all these years...
-
I know but since Tuchel started him today, I highly doubt he will rest him against Real Madrid, of all games. If we can get a cushion between us and the others in the league after this weekend, then maybe you look at resting him at Man City etc.
-
Do you really think Mount will be dropped?
-
Werner. That's what I suspect Tuchel will do and especially when we also have Man City 3 days after the second leg.
-
I think he will.
-
All those complaints about Werner on the ball and he went and did that. lol Jekyll and Hyde. Also, can't believe Fulham just stood there and allowed him to pick out the pass. Wasn't our last hat-trick scorer against Fulham also a German (Schurrle)?
-
At the moment, he's doing a lot of good things off the ball but not on it (opposite of the others). At this point, I wish he would just say "fuck it!" and just do something unusual to break out of the funk.
-
That's the open play assist from Mount. @NikkiCFC
-
He was offside anyway, judging from the replay.
-
With the games that we have coming up, it's hard to see them getting rested at all.
-
Giroud was already not on the bench last weekend at West Ham.
-
I mean with the Euros happening this summer, do people really think Tuchel will have a proper pre-season with the entire squad?
-
Here's the one big difference though, how many players in the past joined a new club and then had to adapt to a new club, league, country while in the middle of a pandemic and a relentless schedule? Not every player is the same and not everyone adapts quickly. Off the top of my head, you have someone like Cancelo looking average in his first season with Man City and now looking like a completely different and better player in his second season. Moreover, Werner isn't the only new signing in the team who have not performed consistently this season. Havertz and Ziyech are other examples. The only mitigating circumstance they have had is injury and COVID, in Havertz's case. The pressure playing for Chelsea is still different from RB Leipzig and Germany. For Leipzig, yeah, they are expected to win most games etc but no one really expects them to challenge for the major trophies and win them. It's like with Leicester here. They are the favorites in most games but if they don't win them, don't win trophies, no one is gonna pile on them compared to us. One loss here, one failure there, we would be hearing for days, weeks etc. Agree with the Germany bit but playing for Germany only happen once every few months. Still different than when you have the world watching you every week etc.

Have people really not thought this out properly? lol

Where does Loftus-Cheek even fit in if it's not 4-3-3?
