You aren't necessarily wrong but we can't be putting in great performances to get to cup finals and then bottled them (or 1 for now) by not turning up. We can't be setting high standards with those performances and then letting them slip when it really matters. What's the point of us doing well if by the end of it all, we don't have anything to show for it? God, I fucking hate it when Chelsea get the hopes up, only to then dash them in stupid fashion...should know better after all the stupid bad moments over the last decade!

Funny thing is, City played their cup keeper Zack Steffen in both domestic cups. It cost them against us in the FA Cup semi-final but didn't matter against Spurs in the League Cup final. That being said, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have started Kepa at all. Am just pointing out the circumstances that may have played a part in his selection, on top of him being a cup keeper.

You could say the same for us. Vardy and Iheanacho were barely a threat upfront and Leicester created nothing. So defensively, we actually did well. Where we failed was going forward. As much as Alonso gets more into dangerous positions more than Chilwell, he's not exactly a goalscoring machine. Chilwell himself has managed a few goals this season. And Tuchel said he played Alonso because of his height and experience but that certainly didn't pay off at all because we had 2 malfunctioned attacks from the wingbacks!
-
One can only imagine there was also club politics involved. Mendy would have saved that goal, IMO, but one thing I'd say though is if we had actually performed, it would have made Kepa starting redundant, just like against City in the semi-final.
-
Not sure if Leicester were necessarily hungrier because both sides were rubbish going forward. Only difference was a long range goal from nowhere.
-
And that's West Ham out of the CL running...

Win by a couple of goals? At this point, think we would all just be happy with any kind of win! Even the worst 1-0 win ever! It would be fucking tragic if we finish in the Top 4 but don't win anything again, despite reaching TWO finals OR it could end up worse...
-
You were certainly implying it. And heck, you even responded more to us losing in the Top 4 race than the cup final!
-
Are people happy with any referee? lol
-
You complained about the starting XI against Arsenal and kept banging on about the top 4 more than anything else in midweek.
-
Mendy would have absolutely saved it, IMO. Questions must also be asked of the players. I don't know if they have let all the praise got into their head or have just hit a wall after the Man City game but no one looked bothered in the last two games. We didn't play with the same energy, desire and intensity and now the season is in danger of becoming a complete failure. The FA Cup was our best chance of winning something out of the two finals and we bottled it. God knows what's gonna happen with the Top 4 race now.
-
lol Am not the one who was/is screaming to care only about the Top 4 and nothing else.
-
🤣 Look who's the dumbass trying to resort to insults now after being called out...
-
Oh, you care about the trophies now? Thought you only care about Top 4?

My guess is that Havertz and Pulisic did nothing in the last game against Arsenal and Ziyech did score the winner in the semi-final. So, I guess it became a bit of a toss-up between the 3 and out of our attackers, Pulisic is arguably the best when it comes to coming off the bench. If anything, it's probably baffling that Tuchel didn't start with Havertz-Werner upfront and Mount deeper in midfield considering it was working well recently. Werner can be OK at leading the line but he's better off playing off someone upfront. Kepa played because he has been the cup keeper - something Tuchel has mentioned - although you could argue that Tuchel could have been more ruthless but think there's also some club politics involved in this. Tuchel said he played Alonso because of his height and experience but he brought Chilwell later on anyway. Chilwell was clearly desperate/motivated to play against his former side. No clue why Tuchel didn't try to harness that. Went with Alonso instead and we had 2 malfunctioned attacks from the wingbacks.

Maybe Jorginho should do his job as a midfielder better first before expecting someone else to do it for him. And had Silva come out to close Tielemans, it would have opened up the space for him to make the pass to Vardy before he attempted to make the shot.
-
Arsenal managed to beat Liverpool in the Community Shield this season and look where they are now.
-
WUT?
-
Jorginho spending more time shouting and pointing than trying to close down Tielemans...
-
But it's a trophy - if you want to call it that - that people only care if the team win and don't care if they lose. Totally different to the others.
-
The difference between the Community Shield and the League Cup is that the former is just a one off game while the latter is an actual tournament with multiple rounds etc, however big or small it is. I know that record is bad anyway even without the Community Shield but the Community Shield is basically a glorified pre-season friendly.
-
Maybe it's karma for the way we won the 2017 FA Cup but the stupid thing about this final is that Leicester did nothing special to win this. The game was there for the taking and we did F all with it and we allowed them to shithouse their way to the win with a long range goal. And had Chilwell goal stood, Leicester would have been fucked considering Rodgers had made so many defensive changes by then. Fucking joke!
-
Are we really counting the Community Shield? lol
-
Also worth remembering that Mendy is slightly taller than Kepa.
-
Mike Dean is the referee for this...
