Yes and that whole thing with punishing tennis players - among other Russian athletes - is daft. A lot of these sanctions are just for PR purposes only.
-
Don't know about Sky but it's stated here in the Guardian... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/02/Chelsea-swiss-billionaire-hansjorg-wyss-says-offered-chance-buy-club-roman-abramovich
-
Yes but it's still daft. There's so much external pressure on Roman because of what someone else is doing while the Saudi owners have been allowed to weasel their way to become a Premier League club owner. If they want to punish Roman for political reasons due to his relationship to Putin, then they should be doing the same with other owners for the shit things that they're doing to other countries/innocent lives.
-
Saw someone tweet this...
-
True but you never know. There are crazy owners out there.
-
Fuck...now you gotta wonder what will happen to Tuchel.
-
This is truly a depressing day. Never thought I would see the day where Roman has to sell the club and sell it because of a fucking war! 😥

If we're holding the others to standards that they aren't producing, then shouldn't it be the same with Mount as well? Also, it's funny how people are suddenly assuming Gallagher is our savior when we haven't even seen play for us consistently. It's one thing to do well at Palace, it's another to do it at Chelsea.
-
That's not saying much, is it? Plus, people seem to hold others to one standard and Mount to another.
-
So Mount is basically an English Willian? What does Mount have exactly? I asked this some time ago and IIRC, I don't think anyone was able to answer it. If this Mount had been playing for another club, would you go out there and spend, say, 60-70 million (English tax etc) on him to improve the team?
-
Curious, were your patience already thin with Mount or what? Because it seems like you've suddenly just made a 180° turn on him.

One thing I'd say is that it's disappointing that we haven't seen more of Havertz and Werner play together this season. When they did play together last season, they showed that they have good chemistry and understanding of one another's game (they also assisted one another a few times). Matt Law mentioned last week that some in the squad are surprised, for example, that Tuchel has played the CL winning trio of Werner, Havertz and Mount only once this season (I know there have been injuries and COVID but when they are all available). That was something that we could have built on but alas, we tossed that aside for Lukaku and we're now like kinda stuck with him in the squad.
-
Matt Law mentioned that Pulisic and Werner are the likeliest to leave (in Werner's case, if nothing changes between now and May) and any incomings will depend on outgoings. Maybe I'm clutching at straws here but Tuchel said Werner had a bad case of COVID back in December and Werner himself said how he got tired from just walking up the stairs (or something along those lines). It was the same case with Havertz last season. So, maybe that's the reason for his lack of starts recently, especially when we were in dire need of results? That being said, maybe it's best that he goes to a club that will make better use of his qualities. The question is, where's the market for him (would anyone agree to sell him to a rival, say United, if they come for him?)? On the bigger picture, it's kinda funny to see people clamor for new signings but at the same time, want Broja back in the squad.

This won't happen as long as Lukaku is still around.
