  1. Torres gets service here, but he's just not good enough to finish the chances off. We've seen it this season. A lot of striker need service, but the problem of Torres is that he's not good enough anymore. He doesn't make the right runs, he's always static. Our problem is the fact that our strikers can't always put away the chances we get. When we had a striker that wasn't static and was making clever runs (Sturridge vs WBA), did you see how many more chances our team were able to create. Torres hasn't been failing yet again because of service, but because he's not good enough anymore. Our team creates chances, and that is where Falcao comes in
  2. Or an off day where he couldn't get involved in the game........ All the best strikers in the world have games like this. Just feel like it's being over analysed just because its Falcao. It's normal. Happens to everyone
  3. Drogba didn't always play well in games against United, but he was still regarded as a big game player. And the tag 'big game player' has come from his scoring records in finals. Falcao more often than not plays a part in some way in the big games. I've never had Falcao down as a confidence player either. Even if he misses a chance, you'll still see him getting into goalscoring positions trying to put it in the net. When Torres misses a chance, he'll usually disappear for the next 60 or so minutes. A striker doesn't usually fire for a whole season though, so I'd say it's normal. Rvp had period where he didn't score for 3-5 games last season, but he still came out with 30 goals.
  4. His movement is second to none. He's constantly moving and dragging defenders out of position. You'll rarely ever see him static. Despite being said 'he has no link up play', this is a myth. His link up play is more than good enough for any top level club, he brings other people into the game and because of his outstanding leap he's able to bring balls down and flick them on for other players. His heading? Not much needs to be said, i'm sure we know how good this attribute is. He also has this quality of being able to make a yard of space for himself and scoring chances (very similar to Rvp). However, despite all of this the biggest thing for me about Falcao is that he's a big game player. He doesn't go hiding in the big games and always steps up to the plate when needed. If you really wanted a Drogba replacement, then Falcao would be that man. With the current level of defending in the PL, Falcao would have a field day
  5. Falcao has played in the possession based, high intesity and pressing Porto team Played in a counter attacking Atletico team Yet he wouldn't score goals here? I'm dumbfounded. He adapts, he can play in any system. I'm wasting my time here anyway. My advice is watch porto matches from a few years ago, watch Atletico this season and stop basing opinions on stats
  6. Mate are you actually serious? Please watch a few games of Falcao. Tbh I can't wait till he comes to the premier league and proves people wrong for saying he's not worth 40-50 million when he's winning trophies and scoring goals for either us or City. He won't win you games by himself? Watch an Atletico game. Ask an Atletico and tell me Falcao has never won a game by himself. This is just as bad as when people describe Drogba as a target man
  7. That's my point though. If he was just a great finisher, he'd be rated at the same level as other great finishers like Huntelaar and Hernandez. There are a lot of great finishers in the world of football. I'm not trying to claim that Falcao has brilliant link up play or anything of the sort, but his skills extend a lot further than just being a great finisher
  8. Honestly, it really does get me when people just underrate Falcao's ability and just call him a finisher. NO. He's a lot more than that. Watch him closely and follow his games. Don't just base it on stats you see or the fact that he scores lots of goals. Guess the saying 'goals mask a players game' is true.......
  9. This is such an underrating of a great player. If Falcao was merely just a 'finisher', he would not have the status and be viewed at level that he is. A finisher is what you'd describe someone like Hernandez, Huntelaar and other strikers. Falcao is a lot better than that otherwise he'd be on that same level as them. Falcao has incredible movement, heading, finishing. His link up play is vastly underrated too. I'm not sure if you watch him that often, but if you did then you'd realise why he's virtually wanted by every club in the world and is now known as one of the world's best. And please tell me how we know whether he'd be a good fit for Chelsea? We've only seen Torres play in our current system. We need someone who can link up play with Hazard, Mata etc and put the ball in the net with the chances we create. Sturridge is able to do it on the basis of the WBA, but he's finishing just isn't good enough. There's also the case of saying that GOOD PLAYERS ADAPT. I've said this earlier in the thread, but look at RVP. People said he'd flop at United because he wouldn't be the main man, Arsenal play differently to United etc. However, like Mancini said a few weeks ago, if your a good player you'll adapt to different systems. Falcao would fit here no doubt. Our AM's need a focal point and someone who can create space for them. Falcao would do this perfectly. Same with a few other strikers
  10. I wasn't that confident of signing Falcao. However, seeing how Torres has performed, our form etc. The only way Chelsea knows how to solve problems like these is just by chucking a lot of money at it. Pretty sure Roman won't hesitate to activate that release clause to appease the fans, get the club back on track and give us a real striker
  11. Why is the mentality of a footballer always understated. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world right now. It's been made clear that Falcao would love to play in England. Also please lets not rely on this service argument please. Our players were creating chances, it was Torres that was the problem. He was missing easy chances and his movement was appalling, but lets not get onto this whole Torres debate. With the players we've signed, its clear what direction we're trying to go in and Falcao being the lead of this project playing as our number 1 striker would easily be enough to persuade him. He went from playing Champions League with Porto to Europa League with Atletico. It's not just about that. Going to play in England would give Falcao the chance to cement himself as one of the best players in the world. Don't underestimate the significance of playing for Chelsea in modern times, our wages, club status, league etc make us a huge pull for any player in the world
  12. You realise that pace is one of his strongest attributes........
  13. Fair enough. It just annoys when a player is written off because he's not a household name. Our scouting has improved over the past few years and we've found some great talents, so that's why I have confidence that Chelsea would have seen something special in him and can contribute to our squad The striker thing wasn't meant for you
  14. At Internacional or Metalist? Because players mature as they get older. Taison plays as a winger mostly not striker
  15. Lets be honest, how many of us have actually seen him play extensively? If he was at the game against Fulham, then it's more than likely going to happen. Think we should just trust Chelsea on this one http://www.dailymail...son-Freda.html?
  16. Interesting. Cheers guys! Although, I do remember similar things being said about Oscar when he first joined (Too Skinny/lightweight, weak etc) and as we know, he's made a decent start here. If we do get him, I'm sure Chelsea know what there doing and for the 15-20 million euro price that is being quoted it'd be worth the risk I guess
  17. That's the point i'm making. Marin is unreliable when it comes to injuries and If Benitez wants to have Oscar as CM then that leaves us with Mata, Hazard, Marin (Injury prone), Moses (Off to AFCON). While in CM we're left with Ramires, Lampard (Might be off to China), Mikel (Off to AFCON), Romeu and Oscar. I could definitely see why the club might be looking at one more AM
  18. If Benitez wants Oscar to play in one of the CM positions, then we'll probably need an attacking midfielder in January. Also bare in mind that Moses will be off to the African cup of nations meaning we'll be short in that position
  19. http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calcio-internazionale/talenti-brasiliani-chelsea-vicino-a-bernard/ A crystalline talent from Brazil, Chelsea tries again. After Oscar, now in the viewfinder is Anicio Bernard Duarte Caldeira, for all simply Bernard. Chelsea wants ahead of the competition, is trying to close the transaction. Bernard is a playmaker, is dragging the Atletico Mineiro, third in the Brazilian championship. The reflectors are all for him, who stole the show also mate Ronaldinho. 10 goals and 12 assists in 35 part, many more geometries and throwing perfect. Bernard has conquered all, and to think twice failed the audition with Atletico Mineiro for reasons of height. Now it is 1.63 m high, but it is still capable of great shots. It 'sa class '92, grew up and has always played nell'Atletico but one season on loan at Democrata. It also has a Spanish passport, so it is outside the EU. After Oscar, Chelsea also want this talent: an attacking midfielder concrete, with a great vision of the game. Approached also Italian clubs, Bernard is close to the Premier. Rough translation. Can any of our brazilian fans (or anyone that's watched him) shed some light on how good he is? Position? etc
  20. Cech Azpi Cahill Ivanovic Bertrand Oscar Romeu Moses Mata Marin Torres Rafa said that terry, Lampard and Sturridge need more time to recover. Give Mikel, Luiz, Hazard, Ramires and Cole some rest
  21. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2238437/Eden-Hazard-Chelsea.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
  22. Nik ‏@TouchlineDrama According to UEFA the formation on Chelsea's teamsheet is 5-2-3 with just Mikel and Ramires in a midfield battle up against Juventus' 5. Wow
  23. Lukaku played 9 games for the reserves last season and scored 7 goals with 2 assists. His finishing, touch etc looked good in reserves and he often excelled playing at that level, but now looks below par in the league. Completely different environment playing in a Premier League match compared to reserves, much more pressure
  24. You realise when Lukaku was playing reserves last season, he was often the best player on the pitch and got loads of goals too...........
  25. Shock horror. We need a striker. Would never have known that
