Completely agreed, and its because of that reason I would be happy to see him go. Arguably he is my favourite all-time Chelsea player after Gudjohnsen, but I'd love to see him play out his career for an up-and-coming team where he will play ever week and his experience will be crucial.

Jose Mourinho attended a funeral yesterday. At Old Trafford, he saw the death of his Chelsea team.
-
TBH, I can see Carlo leaving. If we get a good price for him then so be it, he deserves to play his final years as a number 1. Wouldn't mind seeing young Hart coming the other way.

What's so legendary is the fact he stopped it from being 2-0 even before half-time with that challenge on Park. What's so legendary is the fact he took all the abuse from 75000 Manchester United fans and put in a solid performance. What's so legendary is that he almost single-handedly stopped it from being a cricket score. And what's so legendary is the fact he went over to the away fans and apologised. That makes him legendary

I agree.

I've got nothing against the guy, but the wages he's being paid and the best talent he can come up with is a couple of 'prospects' who ain't even gonna get 10 minutes on the pitch.
-
Let him off the leash? Lock him in a cage and put him on the next boat to Italy.

Fuck Arnesen, fuck Kenyon and fuck Scolari.

My nan's wooden leg is a better alternative than Drogba, so go for it.

Manchester United 3-0 Chelsea January 11 2009, Premier League, Old Trafford, Manchester Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov all scored to see Chelsea suffer a devastating defeat at Old Trafford. The Serbian defender opened the scoring late on in the first half following Dimitar Berbatov's header from a United corner. Bulgarian striker Berbatov, who signed for United from Tottenham in the summer, added the icing to the cake by netting the host's third goal after Wayne Rooney had volleyed home from close range, beyond the despairing dive of a helpless Petr Cech. The Blues were disgustingly poor throughout, and failed to notch a single shot on target during the entire match. From lacklustre defending to lazy approach play in the final third, it certainly will be a day to forget for Luiz Felipe Scolari, who face Southend in their FA Cup third round replay in midweek. Confidence will be at shatter-point in the Chelsea dressing room, who will come to the realisation that should Manchester United win their two games in hand over the Blues, not only will they leapfrog the Blues, but also Premier League leaders Liverpool, and into first position. The match was an intriguing affair, with the first forty five minutes very tightly-contested in the centre of the park. However, Vidic's opener was the sucker-punch for Chelsea, who conceded yet another goal from a typical set-piece, and did nothing but deflate the Blues and buoy their opponents onto victory. The antics of Didier Drogba throughout were appalling - the Ivorian falling down until minimal pressure, feigning injury, before jumping up in disgust that no free kicks were awarded. To say that the Blues underperformed would be both an understatement and a flattering remark. They were, quite frankly, abysmal. Despite that, United were brilliant over the duration of the 90 minutes, playing confident football that suggested their title charge is well under way once more. In light of recent comments by Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, that said Sir Alex Ferguson and his side were exempt from the laws of football, the Scot will drive home this evening a very satisfied man. The first half was entertaining due to the excellent football on show, but both sides seemed to falter in the final thirds. The approach play from both teams, particularly by United, was excellent, but both teams lacked the killer final ball that would open up the opposition defence. The first real chance of the game fell to Chelsea, but Michael Ballack's effort was straight into the wall, and not for the first time this season. The home side countered dangerously on the half-hour, with Berbatov being set up brilliantly. Shifting the ball onto his left foot from his right, he delicately took Ricardo Carvalho out of the equation, before firing towards goal. The effort lacked the necessary power to test Petr Cech, but the orange-jerseyed goalkeeper was nonetheless called into action. Nemanja Vidic opened the scorer with a headed goal, but the deficit at the break could have been even greater but for John Terry. The England and Chelsea skipper slid in to deny Park Ji-Sung, who had been teed up brilliantly by Ronaldo's ingenuity - a timely intervention with the Korean about to pull the trigger. Vidic's goal was somewhat of a soft goal to concede from a Chelsea perspective, especially since a last-minute set-piece goal had gifted Fulham a point in the West London derby at the tail end of 2008. With no player on the post, the Serb was perfectly placed to head home Berbatov's flick-on beyond a stranded Petr Cech. Old Trafford erupted in delight. Deco - an expensive acquisition from Barcelona who has played in the majority of Chelsea's league games this season yet put in only three decent performances - was substituted at half-time, citing an ankle injury to be the reason for his withdrawal. Whatever the diagnosis, not even the introduction of Premier League top scorer Nicolas Anelka could turn the tide of the game. Ronaldo's back-heel pass found Evra, who crossed exquisitely from the left for Rooney, who had no problem finding the net from six yards out. The England man ran to the corner flag and kissed the Manchester United emblem. After 62 minutes, United had already beaten Chelsea to a pulp, but they were not finished there. Cristiano Ronaldo had a brilliant effort from 25 yards fizz just wide of Cech's upright, and a tight offside call saw the winger correctly ruled offside when one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Ronaldo finished, thinking he'd added to the goal count, but Howard Webb was quick to point out the linesman's flag had been raised in the build up. The World Player of the Year could have had another free kick goal to add to his formidable collection, but Cech did well to tip the ball over after the Portuguese’s effort had deflected off the anonymous Frank Lampard. Berbatov added further woe on 86 minutes, converting from close range from a low Ronaldo free kick, and Chelsea were consigned to their first league defeat of the season away from home. With 15 points dropped from the last 10 league games, questions will quite rightly be asked of manager Scolari. Is he the right man for the job? The answer, sadly for Big Phil, is no. ___________________________________________________________________ Manchester United: Van der Sar, Neville, Vidic, Evans, Evra (O'Shea), Ronaldo, Fletcher, Giggs (Carrick), Park, Berbatov, Rooney Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa (Belletti), Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Mikel, Joe Cole (Di Santo), Lampard, Ballack, Deco (Anelka), Drogba Attendance: 75,455

Completely agree. Well put.

I know what every Chelsea fan is thinking right now
BlueLion. replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Actually I'm thinking the wes should start using capitals more often so I don't have to change the bloody thread titles -
I can quite realistically see us going out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night. Then I can see Stoke playing with 10 defenders and a goalkeeper on Saturday and play for the draw. And I can see the same happening against Boro. God help us against Juventus and Liverpool. God help us.

Just when I was beginning to think there could not possibly be anyone more angry than I after that performance, the above quoted post gives me some hope that my sanity is still intact. Just give me a manager who knows what he's doing. Give me a team who will play for 90 minutes, regardless of the opposition or score. Give me a team of John Terrys, who are genuinely grateful for wearing the shirt every match. I don't know what to do tomorrow when I go to school. Do I wear my Chelsea jacket, do I wear my Chelsea scarf? Do I show that I'm Blue till my last breath? Or do I hide away after this embarrasment of a performance.
-
United are 1 point behind us with 2 games in hand ffs
-
The result bothers me of course, but its the way we just collapsed. There is no team spirit, there is no confidence. There's nothing, really. Very few positives to take from the game, except the fact it could have been 8-0 but for John Terry and the linesman.
-
Agreed. Probably the one reason why I'm still wearing a Chelsea shirt this minute is because of that man. He cares. Do the rest? Do they fuck.
-
To say we got fucked over by United is an understatement. Chelsea for the UEFA CUP next year!
-
Its not like the old days though, is it? Back then we didn't have complete tossers like Didier Drogba, who threw themselves to the floor looking for a free kick, and then refusing to work because they don't get anything from it. Back then we had people who would kiss the badge and mean it. Back then we had passion and fire and a team that would play till the final whistle. All we've got at the minute is a group of over-paid, over-weight, lazy bastards who do fuck all for their team (of course with the exception of one or two who don't see the world in £20 notes.)
-
Actually, I've changed my mind. Don't bother getting someone on the post. Get me some players who want to wear that Chelsea jersey. I'm disgusted with the likes of Drogba, throwing himself down like a complete moron and then throwing a hissy-fit when he doesn't get a free kick (which, for the record, would end up as a complete waste - either a poxy Lampard toe-poke that rolls through to the keeper or a Ballack bullet that takes out some poor fucker in the upper tier). Get me someone who actually takes pride in wearing the shirt, who will fight till the last whistle even when we're getting shagged up the arse by the likes of Manchester United. I've never reacted to a performance like this before, but for a club like Chelsea, today's performance as a whole was poor. I would say the team demonstrated some fight at least. But we weren't a team today. We were a group of 11 individuals who, bar perhaps John Terry and Joe Cole, just couldn't be fucked with it. I'm one very VERY upset Chelsea fan.

End of the line for Scolari if you ask me. If we go out of the FA Cup as well... I shouldn't be contemplating that though should I? What's happened to my beloved Chelsea? I started supporting this team back in the late 1990s. Back then, we weren't setting the world on fire but we were winning trophies here and there. We played brilliant football, thrashing teams here and there, but then there would be the odd crazy defeat to some team in the bottom half. But I loved it. There was passion, there was fire and there was commitment. I loved every second of it. Then came Ranieri, and then came Abramovich, and then we started to believe. Then came Mourinho and our faith was repaid. Fair enough we weren't the best team to watch at times, but we got the job done. We got the job done with minimum fuss and we were feared. We were the best team in the world. And I loved that too. Even under Grant - you could say we didn't perform in some of the 'big' games but the passion and fight was there. Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal. Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United. Chelsea 3-2 Liverpool. Even the Champions League final. We played like champions in those games. And I loved that as well, even though we won nothing. Enter Scolari. No fight. No passion. No commitment. NO CLUE. At all. Get him the fuck out of my football club. I'm sorry that I have to say this, but its what I think. I don't care if he's won the World Cup. He's the wrong manager at the wrong club. Just get him out of my club so we can rebuild. Please.
-
3rd place? The way Villa are playing? Good luck with that one. UEFA Cup at best with Scolari as manager.
-
Sack the manager. I'm sorry. But that's what I think. He has to go. 3-0 down, even to Manchester United, is disgusting.

Anyone thinking Avram Grant wasn't so bad afterall.
