  1. Conte played with two CDMs in a 3-4-3. Yes, Matic was the deeper of the two but Kante was very clearly employed to play alongside him in a pivot.
  2. This is the weird thing, because everyone else is shit. I honestly can see United overtaking us, however if they lose tomorrow we have, to some extent, got away with losing.
  3. HAHAHAHA, okay. Lampard clearly, fucking obviously KNOWS this team isn't good enough. For some reason, the board are clearly not willing to invest. They've decided they want to use the season to blood the youngsters.
  4. No. Our idiotic managers should play the world's best CDM as a fucking defensive midfielder.
  5. You know as a keeper coach myself I'll always look for a way to defend my goalkeeper, but that's the final straw for me. ANY professional goalkeeper should have that save. That one was worse than Pope's last week for Tammy's header.
  6. The failure to score is down to shit investment over the past few seasons and that we are blooding young players. The loss is down to a goalkeeper who should have lost his place in the team weeks ago. Liability!
  7. Can't blame Lampard for that one, if I'm honest, and I'm probably one of his biggest critics. No penetration, no quality. This season is a write-off - we'll end up being 5/6/7th by the end of February and that's where we'll stay. That's our level. We're not a Champions League club at present.
  8. Burnley coming into this on a shit run, guaranteed to take points back with them
  9. Klopp had experience. Lampard's naivety does concern me. I just feel he isn't learning as much as he can from our defeats and disappointing results. He is a long-term appointment, and, like I said, I fully support him, but he deserves criticism just as much as the players do.
  10. It's the same squad, minus Hazard. People need to stop making out like Lampard is managing the same players he had at his disposal at Derby. We are the Europa League winners and, minus one player regardless of how good he is), it's the same squad, arguably better when you consider the young players who have come in and forced mediocrity out of the starting eleven.
  11. The mentality of the players is poor. It is the job of the manager to manage and motivate them. When you have Zouma reportedly coming out saying the players find it hard to get motivated, that highlights the problem. The substitutions were poor today. Pulisic was by far our most lively player, and we lost all drive in midfield after Mount went off. Kovacic, Kante and Jorgi clearly cannot operate in a three against a four-man midfield. Tammy had a shocker yet he played the full 90 minutes. We praise Lampard - and rightly so - when he makes ballsy decisions (i.e. Emerson vs Arsenal), so he equally deserves criticism for poor substitutions. The fact the players keep making the same mistakes emphasises the fragile confidence of the team. We haven't won back-to-back games in three months. There is something seriously wrong (people need to stop using the transfer ban and "the youth" as an excuse) and the manager must bear some responsibility.
  12. And Mount? Defend him all you like, I'm fine with that and I respect your opinion. On the other hand, I don't see what the fuss is about and think it's obscene he's on such money.
  13. But Lampard doesn't have Hazard at his disposal. So I am saying it... why are you bringing up hypotheticals? An absolute irrelevance.
  14. Pulisic is undeniably a better player and there is a reason Frank would rather play Mount as a wide midfielder. Speaking of RLC, I honestly don't know where he will fit in. The only player I can see him replacing is Kante, but would you trust this team without Kante there to rescue us time and time again?
  15. Are they? I'd argue the absolute opposite and say we're making the same mistakes, which is what is so infuriating.
  16. I am 100% behind Frank Lampard but it is becoming more and more abundantly clear that he is in this post a good 4/5 years before he was ready for it.
  17. We also had some sensational performances under Sarri, especially early on... Lampard is doing little different to Sarri and people don't want to admit that.
  18. Apart from winning one header against Arsenal, in his last half dozen matches, what has he done that is positive? Surrenders position, can't/won't cross the ball, runs towards players rather than into space... Bayern, are you still interested? Would get rid in a heartbeat.
  19. He was still shaky with crosses today, but you can't fault his shot-stopping on today's evidence.
  20. My concern is that we're not learning clear and obvious lessons. We struggle against frankly horrendous opposition. Brighton, Southampton, West Ham, Bournemouth, even throw Everton into that on this season's evidence. It just isn't good enough.
  21. Anyone who thinks this is good enough is living in a fucking fantasy.
  22. What is this overhaul of the style of play you're referring to? People seem to think Lampard is revolutionising our style of play. He isn't. He doesn't even know his best team and can't settle on a formation. This is something people are pulling out of the air to use as some makeweight excuse for shocking performances. People can't keep using the youth as an excuse for braindead match management both on and off the pitch. The amount of good opportunities wasted by selfish play was horrendous.
