mate our team was different back then. Its got nothing to do with our attack but everthing to do with our defence and midfield(!) Our defence has been nothing short of shambolic since last October. Contrast this to the mourinho era when we had arguably the best centreback pairing there was on the planet: Terry and Carvalho. This was protected by Maka, need I say more about him. Midfield had the burstful youthful energy of lampard who promised those 20 goals every season and had the engine of essien behind him to dominate the centre. And what do we have now? Ramires, albeit pacy and skilful, has a very annoying habit of going missing midway through the match and can get brushed off easily unlike essien (of the past, not present!). Its the begining of the end for lampard who does nothing but slow our buildup instead of driving forward himself (!). Spraying the ball left or right keeps the passing ticking but he is no iniesta or xavi and never was! Our attack is arguably better than that of mourinho era but needs AVB to get Torres firing on all cylinders again which I honestly believe can happen again. Giving him 10 minutes with anelkalouda on the pitch actually does more harm than good!

I can see a 3-1 defeat in all honesty and Im prepared for it. We are not going to win the title this season and its time people start being realistic...

I see you didnt read the part about Rooney and his barren run. I am not saying that Torres is on form and playing well, the thing that gets on my nerves is how people tend to forget the service he has been receiving in the last 15 matches or so. Bar that fulham game last season (the one where Luiz picked him out and he had another great chance), our team has created shite nothing for him to feed on. How on earth is he meant to score? In case you're wondering, he has never been the sort of player who would pick the ball up from his own half and then score unlike messi or ronaldo! Anyways, I'll repeat it again: Torres = CF Lampard = Midfield I'll leave you to work out the rest...

Did Fergie drop rooney when he had that goal drought last season? The answer NO. Why, well he knew owen or berbatov were never going to win him the league! And guess what happened, Rooney scores a hatrick against WestHam (the one where he swears at the camera) and the floodgates open. Makes sense? Take a deep breath and watch the full match again when you find time and then answer this: In those last ten minutes, how many times did Torres get the ball played to his feet in the final third? Give him a full 90 with sturridge and mata on the wing and then come to any conclusions. Form is temporary, Class is permanent!

This. We seriously have to get rid of this if we want to be any chance of winning anything this season! Lampard has been a great servant for the club and we'll never find a true replacement for him but that doesnt mean we have to keep flogging a dead horse. Have him on the bench and bring him on in the last 30 minutes or so like Fergie used to do with Scholes or Giggs.

Like it or not, AVB needs to get Torres firing again and giving him ten minutes with anelkalouda on isnt the way to do it .

Yes. Anelka as your CF will NEVER (I repeat NEVER) going to win you games against the likes of United, City, Barca or Real! Giving Torres 35 minutes (20 minutes with Mata before his substitution) is better than bringing him on in the last ten miutes when Fat Frank can barely look up and Malouda is trying to emulate the heroics of Giggs. /rant over
