How can Chelsea fans not see what John does on the field for Chelsea? He was the best defender in the world, he still is one of the best. But what John Terry offers is much more than his own performance. Most importantly, JT offers organization at the back and even in midfield. He is an inspiration to every Chelsea player if there ever was one. The role of a true leader on the pitch is very underrated. I know it is a cliche, but the team is not the same without him.

Well, I guess versatility is relative in the sense that it depends on how well you think the player does out of position. What I meant is that Salamon does an "adequate" job on either wing, which could be very helpful for a squad player; he can also play as a striker if needed. Yes, Kalou does not offer anything "different" going forward, but neither did Malouda in the last year or so, and at 27, Kalou is, imo, the better choice.

You can play him in goal if you want but that does not mean he's a keeper!
