Unfortunatley, I cannot see this deal happening, no matter how much I try to convince myself. There is no way United will go into this season and CL campain with RvP and Welbeck as backup. If RvP is injured or whatever, all of the sudden their offensive force is decimated. They depend on him so much at the moment (considering Rooney isnt there).

Solid performance, but if we want to hang with the big teams I still believe we need someone like Rooney. At the moment I think we are more than fine in every position (yes, even the defensive midfield) but we dont have THAT clinical, game changing striker. I do have ALOT of trust, faith and hope in Lukaku but he is still young. Torres is torres and Ba is too sloppy etc. We need that kind of RvP, Drogba, Cavani, Falcao type of striker.

KdB has been good but I think Moses will get the start but would be amazing if KdB could get at least 15 minutes. To everyone in this thread that think that this saga will weaken United if Rooney wont leave, just pull something over your head. CLEARLY Rooney wasnt happy today and yet he managed to get 2 assists? We either sign him and our chances of winning trophies increase by 2, or United is still a serious challeneger for the PL title. Like someone else said, we dont have that game changing striker/player. We've had Didier for so long who could sometimes be rather invisible, win a header here and there but then score a cracker from out of nowhere. We dont have that at the moment and we seriousley need it if we are to challenge teams such as United, City, Real, Bayern, Barcelona etc.
