  1. oh welll this is reaalllyyy interesting...
  2. ivory coast won the home leg 4-2 and were leading 2-0 in the away leg (drogba scored both) when the senegalese fans started rioting in the stadium and the match was suspended and later awarded as a 2-0 win to coast. but for me its as good as DD scored and knocked them out.
  3. nope. drogba knocked senegal out...
  4. strikers at chelsea at start on 2011-12 season - drogba, anelka, sturridge, lukaku, (maybe) kalou and the blonde bitch. strikers at chelsea now - the blonde bitch... well played u whore, well played...
  5. one of the biggest mistake by the club but cant say that dint see it coming. best of luck to him. though i have a feeling he is gonna be great their.
  6. i dont think the point is about any1 buyin him because his contract runs out in 6 months and the club is unwilling to give him a new contract. that for me is the real problem.
  7. if only life was so simple, then probably rdm would still be here. anyways your arguments do make a lot of sense and thats y i had a lot of work done of FFP and our wages and all. but its still that nagging feeling of discomfort of not having lamps at the bridge and the way this season has panned out so far that tells that lamps is still required/needed. in the end of u said, the club aka ROMAN will decide.
  8. then lets agree to disagree. cole IS the best left back in the world but truthfully speaking i cant see him taking a pay-cut with more lucrative offers while with lamps i can. u give me a couple of incidents of losing, is not that what football is? u cant have a 100% record but things look way better with lamps on the pitch. way more secure. if u want to name instances of lsin when lamps is on the pitch u should also name those without him - juve, wba, united, drawing to swansea, the whole whu fiasco. anyways it seems the discussion is somewhat wasteful. i feel lamps is NECESSARY for atleast anothr season and it would be hard to change my mind (especially after the CL disaster of this season) while i think it would be near to impossible changing your mind.
  9. no doubt it does, but somethings are necessary. people are crying over lamps and nothing so much for cole because we believe that lamps still got it and moreover he cant be totally replaced right now whereas cole maybe (some chance) of bertrand filling his shoes completely. moreover the results this season have shown the same. we win when lamps on the pitch and got a hard time without him. plus i belive, it cant all be just financial, and i for one believe its more because of the club's changed status over aging players than any other thing.
  10. i think this is where we differ big time. i think lamps will (infact during the rdm period he became our super sub for 3-4 games before starting the noordsdjaeland game and getting injured). accept a lesser role and probably a bit of a pay cut. atleast we can hope he does in case the club comes back to its senses.
  11. precisely my point. we have been doing cost cutting exercises for the past 4 years. last year we got a 1 million bonus despite losing 26 mil (i think) on avb (13 mil to porto and 13 mil as compenastion) though not sure. this tells us that we have done what is necessary for FFP. right now there is some leeway in FFP where a club can incur some losses to a particular extent which goes on decreasing. So in my opinion we are there as far as FFP is concerened but the actual problem is the club's new strategies (and by club i mean roman)
  12. wwwooohhh dude!!! he was wba's best player by a mile. i mean we keep crying over torres not getting any service from the mid but this match showed what not getting any service actually is. brunt was horrendous, fortune was awful, morrison had an off day, in the 1st half wba could not string 5 passes together. compare it to lukaku who won a lot of aerial challenges, was good at holding the ball, and add to that the second half display (in which he shoud have scored his 2nd goal in a 1 on 1 but screwed it up because of his right leg and 2 really good headers with nice movement and running in the channels) u get a fairly good performace (probably not MOTM because that should have been berba in my opinion). even when wba moved him to the left wing he was a serious danger and put in some really good crosses.
  13. i think lamps has told that he wants to end his career at chelsea. plus dont give a 2-3 year contract but a 1 year contract, probably even performance based or something. the main point is there is no effort from the club's side while in most cases its the other way around. lamps seems a decent guy, he knows he has got to phase out of the team sooner or later and that his role is going to get limited and that means a pay cut. but the most important thing is the club itself is refusing to talk (as far as i know thru the media) and that is because we think we dont need him which is very big misconception.
  14. i totally agree with u but torres is no bench mark dude. the next thing we ll hear is "people are forgeting how torres plays". and that would probably be the day i ll kill myself...
  15. i think we are putting the wage debate out of proportion. since 2010 summer lets see who has left the club - ballack, cole, deco, belletti, carvalho (in the summer of 2010), zhirkov, anelka, alex(in 2011) and drogba, kalou and bosingwa (in summer of 2012) with malouda, sturridge and benayoun with probably essein, cole and lampard. add to that torres (who i think would probably leave us in the summer at least) transfers in - benayoun,ramires,torres,luiz(2010),mata,lukaku, courtouis,romeu,bryune,cahill(2011),marin,oscar,azpi,hazard,moses(2012). [meireles and youth players not included as i would expect their wages to not be that much of an issue] while our transfers in have been untested and young players (for the most part) who would probably be at 50% or at max 75% of the wages of the players that have left us (almost every one on the out list was more than an accomplished player and i wont be suprised if most of them earned more than 100k pw). considering the type of players we have brought in and that we anyways have probably the thinnest squad of the top 6-7 clubs in the epl, i would not think wages to be the sole concern or for that matter even the main concern. i think its more about roman and his fantasy of having a "young" team with no player over 30 being a part of it. the results this season have shown that we still do need lampard. he gives us that X-factor. he is not merely a luxury but a necessity. plus he has shown signs of taking a lesser role too (sub role) and that should not hinder in the development of some our players (without him if we keep losing then that defintely wont develop those players at all). so i say a one year contract is a MUST...

  17. he should have grabbed a brace but missed a 1 on 1 with wba really dangerous at about 52nd minute. his right foot really needs some work but really good performance from him.
  18. LUKAKU SCORES... A tap but right place at the right time unlike our current striker...
  19. twitter petition is the only way i can do anythin!!! the people who can actually have an effect are ones who go to the BRIDGE... but i really wanna do something for this one because letting lamps go is suicidal in my eyes.
  20. @muzchap - great posts but most importantly (as put by @kojo) a person with whom you can have a sane discussion or even an argument with.
  21. turnbull azpi iva cahill bert luiz lamp moses mata hazard torres play our strongest team in this match and then we can make the required changes on the weekend for the southampton FA cup game before the swansea game for CoC. for the southampton match we can bring rambo n mikel in the pivot with oscar, marin n piazon (probably) for moses, mata and hazard. at this moment the league should be our first priority. united are playing away to wigan and city at home against stoke and i have this feeling that atleast one of them will drop points if not both, and if this happens we should take the oppurtunity with both hands.
  22. what is the time period of his injury?
