  1. Fans are always against selling their academy players, especially so to rivals. Doesn't mean much.
  2. Would only take Smith Rowe if it was for a cheeky £10m.
  3. Cherki looks a lot slower than Hazard, he always had great acceleration to burst away from people over short distances, Cherki probably has a much lower ceiling consequently. Still could become a great player of course. He would be an exciting signing but he 100% has serious flop potential.
  4. He also said he wants experienced players in midfield and we gave him two 19 year olds and a 21 year old. I think the club only listen a little to what Poch wants and he just gets to hard reject anyone he’s dead against.
  5. Lots of players suggested can’t play as a striker so people comfortable if we lose NJ to injury then?
  6. You, uh, actually watching this stuff Vesper?
  7. Wherever he went that’s a risk. Let’s not judge until the lad has had a couple of months there at least. There’s no team we can find for him in a top division that won’t have other, good professional footballers there. He’s got to prove he’s so good he has to play, wherever he goes.
  8. If he is one of the best players in their squad, they'll play him. If he is not, then he is not as good as we thought at all and no where near ready.
  9. The primary purpose of us loaning him is for him to gain Premier League experience, I think. I guess the club feel like if Santos is as good as they think he is then he'll not just break into the Forest lineup but be their key man.
  10. I do not know a lot about this guy, but checked out some scouting reports on him, Youtube and a bit of fbref and he does indeed look like exactly the kind of player we could really use.
  11. To be fair we've not done a lot of pressing so far under Poch, if we dominate possession as we have vs Liverpool, West Ham and Luton it becomes less of a big deal, he said himself that it will be against teams like Man City that we'll see the hardcore pressing because we'll need it. Cherki would for sure not play if we were going up against those sort of teams, unless he developed a lot. But, the argument for Cherki is quite reasonable when you look at the current plan of team's we're playing against, where it is about finessing a goal through the parked bus. He would definitely be a useful squad player, and I think the case for him as risen since we've acquired a very defensively solid midfield (Lavia, Caicedo, Enzo). However, I still think Jonathon David helps us more than Cherki. I think someone that can cover for NJ and play in different positions is really what we're looking for, we're currently SUPER at risk relying on NJ here and he does have a history of hamstring problems - we just don't want to get a pure no.9 who has no purpose when NJ is fit.
  12. Romano is a click engagement genius. Got to respect it. Probably doesn’t know much but knows that it’s very likely we are going to do something, and knows how to milk the views. I have nothing but respect for what a hustler he is.
  13. Hard to say what to do with this. In some way makes sense to play the same-ish team we want to go with on the weekend so they have time together to practice, gel and improve, but of course if anyone gets injured we'll be screaming "why the fuck were they even playing against Wimbledon?" and loads of lads deserve a chance to play that haven't had a decent chance yet. If we went with the same team that beat Luton and they go out and win 8-0 it could be really good for building confidence and cohesion in the team. On balance though given how many injury problems we've got I'd probably prioritise rotation, and give serious minutes to Maatsen, Mudryk (if fit), Madueke, Ugochukwu... Might keep the backline the same for the sake of letting them build together because they could probably use the confidence boost of a couple of back to back clean sheets after the West Ham result? Hard to say... Petrovic after all will want to play. Definitely rest Enzo.
  14. Yeah we're just speculating on random names that might fit Poch's criteria of ready to play and have an impact in PL on day 1. TBH the club are clearly letting Poch have a "hard no" on anyone he really doesn't want but otherwise just picking the players they feel are right for the long term, otherwise instead of Lavia and Caicedo we'd have got him a 26/27 year old in midfield instead of three 19-21 year olds, so it is probably just as likely to be Barcola or whoever rather than someone who is genuinely 'PL ready' like Eze.
  15. Jadon's on £375k pw is he LOL. Jesus - forgot Man Utd have absolutely 0 brains. Would have to go down to <£200k pw (same or less than Nkunku as a hard rule) to be worth even considering. He's a Blue so I'm sure fans would get behind him. Various interesting options the more you think about it tbh. Curious what the club will cook up here.
  16. I don't think the club thinks in that way whatsoever though.
  17. What's happened with him at Utd? I feel like there's got to be a serious player in there but how has he fallen from grace so hard? Fitness? Attitude? The system?
  18. I suppose there's also Jadon Sancho who has the Joe Shields link... I'm not immediately keen, but not very familiar with how he has flopped so hard at Utd. Edit: We posted at exactly the same time!
  19. “It’s easy to say we need another offensive player but I think we have offensive players that need to recover. “Now, if you bring a player who is maybe not fit or needs to adapt to the Premier League, maybe you are going to spend the same time that you need to wait for Broja or for Nkunku or for Carney, and then you are going to create a mess in the squad.” So he wants someone that will immediately slot into the lineup without needing time to get fit or adapt to the league at all. That probably means a PL or ex-PL player or someone that looks tailor made for the league. That said, Poch asked for experience in midfield and got handed a 19 year old and a 21 year old for huge money. So maybe it is better not to read too much into it and someone like Barcola is just as likely as anyone else.
  20. Maybe it really could be Eze? He’s got PL experience, and plays on the left or through the middle. He’s good at long shots where we are generally not great, and in general just the sort of profile you could totally imagine slotting in immediately. He’s also a little older (close to his prime) which Poch has been asking for.
  21. The thing that totally throws me is Poch said it’s pointless unless they’re a PL player, as it will take time to adapt if they’re not and by then Nkunku is back. So who the fuck could be a surprising signing that knows the league? Leroy Sane? Hazard? Eze? Fuck knows.
  22. Anyone know where to get running stats? Curious how our miles per game has changed since last year since it was a stat often mentioned for Poch and the way he transforms teams (that his teams are close to top of the miles covered table)
  23. I have a feeling in my balls that Mourinho ends up at Newcastle
  24. Wonder how long before Newcastle owners seek a more glamorous option than Eddie Howe?
  25. Damn, I thought we planted Vieira there to play the same system we are playing. Thought it would make sense for all the clubs in the multi club model to play a similar formation and strategy
