Springfield Ohio is what is making the news. An economically depressed town that went from 80k population to 60k because factories closed and there were not enough jobs. So bring in 16k Haitian refugees over 5 years. When listening to the residents, it has been a positive experience. The Mayor is making waves because the town doesn’t have the resources to meet the demands of a population that does not speak English in large numbers. Some do come knowing English. This debate about the EC has been going on my entire life. The party that is not winning the popular vote will always oppose a Constitutional Amendment because the EC provides them with a path to winning. Two thirds votes in the House of Representatives will never happen without the minority party voting for it. It has outlived its original purpose of EC representatives needing to travel by stage coach to deliver the votes from that state. It now serves a completely different political purpose.

Those swings states change every election cycle. Georgia has been a red state for 100 years, but it switched to blue the last two cycles. The EC forces candidates to go to all states. You never know when a state will swing. Pennsylvania and Florida are swing states this cycle, but they have not been in years past. With a country as large as the US and a population that is always in a constant change due to migration for better jobs, it is easy to over simplify the effects of the EC, but the main effect is all states remain important, not just the large populated states.

The Electoral College is the only thing that keeps New York and California from determining every presidential election. If it wasn’t in place 80% of the US would have no say in the presidential election.

He was also in no hurry to set up the core people to run the club. All the people that are running the club currently were set up by Eghbali. Please do point out what structure Boehly put in place

American sports is all about entertainment. You can go to a team this is terrible, but if they have an entertaining stadium, people will line up and buy tickets. I think that is why banter is so much more brutal in club football.
