Think the abysmal performance of our midfielders and the lack of open space to properly transition the ball mixed in with Tuchel’s poor tactics to counter Ciry’s press was the main reason but to each their own mate.
He can dribble in transition but that is it. Much like Kovacic and much like Kante, except these two are better suited in this system. He dribbles and without failure is unable to pick the open pass. I am failing to see how merely dribbling in transition alone = great performance.
It's becoming evident he is only playing until Saul gets up to speed.
Don't think he was the issue today.
The set up neglected literally everyone's ability to transition considering City's press, which led to some horrid show performances. Hindsight is a bitch but the fact Tuchel continued on with this until City scored is ever so worrying.
The must not lose bug that ate Mourinho and Conte alive may have landed on Tuchel...
We saw a similar thing with Conte. This type of negativity affects the players long terms. His post match pressure is what truly worries me. Happy with the display before the goal.
Aye, very annoying.
We made bloody Bernardo Silva look like prime Iniesta today and Ruben Dias had both Werner and Lukaku in his pocket.
But hey. Tuchel is happy with the performance so all is good. 👍
Also Saints at home next week isn’t a given considering they will press us just like City.
If Dave and Alonso are still our wingbacks we will inevitably struggle.
