69 G/A in 190 games – crazy stats mean Chelsea may break usual transfer habits for full back depth https://Chelsea.news/2024/12/maxim-de-cuyper-transfer-habits-stats/ With January just around the corner, transfer links are really hotting up, and that includes Chelsea, despite a really large and solid squad already in place. It gets harder and harder to believe some links simply because we’ve got at least two good players in every position, and are likely looking to climb out of a PSR and FFP deficit at the moment rather than dig deeper into it. However it may be that the sporting structure have seen the unexpectedly rapid progress this season and decided this is a chance to capitalise, especially with our chances of qualifying for the Champions League improving every week as we pick up good results and the teams around us look more and more vulnerable. So it’s no surprise to see another full back linked to the club. CaughtOffside today throw Maxim De Cuyper into the mix as a potential target for numerous teams including Arsenal, Tottenham – and the Blues. Versatile, experienced and potentially cheap full back could be a bargain option Despite being a full back, the Club Brugge is incredibly productive in attack – he has 42 assists and 27 goals in 190 career games. He’s played mainly on the left, but can also play on the right. It’s easy to see how handy he would be as a squad player. Having just turned 24 over the weekend, he’s a little older than the standard profile of player we’ve been signing in recent years – but that extra age and experience means he could slot into most teams right away rather than need time to develop or adapt. Valued at just €12m on Transfermarkt, he looks like a bargain ready to step up to the Premier League – the question is whether it’s Chelsea who take the plunge.

Chelsea won’t recall Andrey Santos despite worrying news about £50m playmaker’s ongoing problem https://Chelsea.news/2024/12/Chelsea-recall-santos-lavia-problem/ Today’s press conference saw manager Enzo Maresca rule out Romeo Lavia for our Boxing Day game against Fulham. After missing the whole of last season, the Belgian was supposed to come into this campaign ready for action. Instead, it’s been a very stop-start spell of small issues stopping him making a run. Lavia had missed 47 games at Chelsea before this most recent issue according to TransferMarkt. So it will be at least 50 by the time he’s back. That’s not even including the games – like against both Tottenham and Arsenal in recent months – where he’s had to be taken off early because of an injury. What’s really aggravating about this all is that Lavia looks great when he’s on the pitch, providing some really good balance in midfield and a profile of player which otherwise we lack in the squad. Having him fit and firing would really improve this team. Lavia worries spark Santos speculation There is already some speculation that Chelsea will consider recalling Andrey Santos from Strasbourg, where he’s having an excellent loan. The club will not do that for a few of reasons – firstly Lavia is due back very soon anyway and should get at least one more run at getting fit and playing consistently. Secondly, it would be a shame to spoil a really impressive and important run for Santos in Ligue 1. Thirdly, given the Alsatians are in a relegation battle and we share an owner, it would be crazy to rip the heart out of their team mid-season. But of course it’s worrying that this is even something some fans are speculating about. Let’s hope that this proves to be the last of Lavia’s issues, and that he can spend the rest of this season stringing games together and building up the strength and fitness required to play consistently in the Premier League for us for years to come. If things continue from now until May as they have been in the first 18 months of his Chelsea career, we’ll start to get really worried.

Exclusive: Chelsea 'Set to Consider Selling' £47m Star in January https://www.givemesport.com/Chelsea-transfer-news-set-to-consider-selling-felix-january-stamford-bridge/ Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is on course to hold discussions with Joao Felix over his future as there is a determination to discover whether he wants to make a quickfire exit from Stamford Bridge ahead of contending with enquiries during the winter transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed. The Blues showed plenty of ambition during the summer, with Pedro Neto being the most expensive acquisition thanks to completing a £54million switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it has paid off as they have gone into the festive period as table-topping Liverpool's closest challengers for the Premier League title. Felix was also among the big-names to arrive at Chelsea, but he has found regular game time difficult to come by and may be weighing up whether to embark on a fresh challenge when Maresca has already confirmed that Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are likely to push for a mid-season move. Blues Ready to Enter Talks Over Felix's Future West Londoners expecting enquiries during winter transfer window Chelsea are set to consider selling Felix when they use the coming days to discuss his situation after being starved of regular opportunities since returning to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in August, according to GMS sources, and there is an awareness behind the scenes that he will not be satisfied with playing a bit-part role. Having previously enjoyed a period on loan with the west Londoners, the Portugal international sealed a switch worth in the region of £47million from La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid to facilitate Conor Gallagher's move in the opposite direction, but he has been forced to contend with stiff competition. GMS sources have been informed that Chelsea are bracing themselves for enquiries over Felix's availability when the transfer window reopens on January 1, leading to Maresca and influential figures behind the scenes wanting to hold talks over his wishes before making a decision on the stance they will take when interested parties come calling. Although the Blues are in a strong negotiating position ahead of their resolve potentially being tested as the attacking midfielder still has more than six-and-a-half years remaining on a contract which allows him to pocket up to £170,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, they do not want to force him to stay if he is unhappy. Chelsea are not actively looking to offload Felix, GMS sources have learned, but they promised they would treat him fairly when he made the move back to the capital as he has been attempting to get his career back on track after struggling to win over Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone. GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Joao Felix has been averaging a goal every 82 minutes in the UEFA Conference League this season, having found the back of the net four times in three starts Maresca Wants to Understand Felix's Feelings Doubts over determination could lead to sanctioning departure GMS sources have been told that Chelsea will use the imminent discussions with Felix to gauge whether he is prepared to persist with trying to win a place in Maresca's preferred starting line-up and, in a significant twist a matter of months after his arrival, doubts over his determination will result in them toying with the idea of cashing in. The 25-year-old has been limited to just 307 minutes of Premier League action this season, with seven of his nine appearances coming from the bench, and the possibility of him being allowed to embark on a fresh challenge ahead of the February 3 transfer deadline has not been ruled out at this stage. Chelsea are desperate to gain knowledge of Felix's true feelings before any offers come in, GMS sources understand, and Maresca may use fixtures against Fulham and Ipswich Town before the turn of the year to tempt him to remain in his current surroundings instead of moving onto pastures new. The former Benfica talisman was recently ranked as the eighth-best player in the UEFA Conference League by GMS, but there is an awareness behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge that he wants to be heavily involved in domestic action as well as on the European stage during the remainder of the campaign. I would like to see ANYTHING reported by the scum at Fichajes banned here. Whether it is directly or indirectly put up on the web, it is 99% lies and made up bullshit rumours if it comes from those lying cunts. I have never disliked a football site more. I wished they could be sued and put out of business, and I sure as fuck wish these other sites would stop posting their shite. It is insane the amount of Fichajes-based bullshit stories that are now being pushed around the internet.
