Comparing kovacic to midfielders of Barca and real hardly helps in this scenario given that those midfielders have had the likes of Messi, Suarez, Neymar, ronaldo, bale to do the heavy lifting and get 20+ goals each.

Given the fact that he plays AMF and the fact that the rest of the 2 (the undroppable 2 of Kante and jorginho is their respective positions) don't provide many goals, he most certainly should. Number of take on don't win games, goals do. Next season we might not have Eden, so who is going to replace 16 PL goals and 13 Pl assists? We need a goal scoring AMF who can get into double figures for that position. RLC has shown that he can. Along with it, he shown shown to be a much more potent threat while carrying the ball.
