How can a billion dollar team lose, even if the play bench players, to a second division club?

One problem I do see is that defenders are constantly hoofing it when under pressure, hoping some deity to answer their prayer and get hold of the ball. This is no way of retaining possession. Barcelona plays out of the back and not hoofs every clearance

I am not the biggest fan of Willian, but he is improving leaps and bounds. Today was a sensational display. His confidence on the final third is growing as well. Chelsea needs a player like Willian, to maintain possession and consistently track back and make those tackles.

I think people are over reacting here. That was some brilliant display of football in the second half. Sensational passing and moving the ball around. Just showed everyone that this supposedly top team Southampton is a mid table team at best. And lol at their supporters for going crazy because they got a corner. Things like this happen. They put 11 men inside the box and threw everyone at it. We were just unlucky

Costa is an excellent goal scorer. No doubt about it. The thing is in some games even the best goal scorers are unable to get open and score. Even in those games, Drogba and Rooney and Aguero can be effective, via holding play, assists, dropping deep etc. Costa is different in that sense

I agree with the conversation here. I feel Cesc is playing too deep. And all his good balls are very long passes. I would like to see a series of games where he plays No 10 and Oscar / Ramires playing CM. It will also be great to have Schurle start for a while instead of Willlan. Willan has good dribbling skills and is a work horse, he is limited going forward. Schurle makes great runs behind the lines.

Costa's real challenge is very poor technique, that surfaced when playing smaller teams and tight spaces inside the box

Hopefully going forward we can start these type of games with Luis and two strikers. Need width and to play the ball in the box more often
