For me once even a single member of what is considered our starting XI is injured, then the 3-4-3 system has to be changed, at least until we seriously beef up the squad and buy some quality in the summer. Go back to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, ffs. 3-4-3 isn't do or die. Conte also had similar problems in the CL against pressing/high intensity opponents with Juve due to his over-insistence with the 3-5-2. I'm not advocating changing from a 3-4-3 permanently, I love the system and it's unique to us and him but right now, we're not deep enough ot good enough to always go down that route.

The fans stuck by him and sing his name in every game when he was a stamping thug and he repays us with angling for a move to China, disrespecting Conte because he wanted to be subbed off bang in the middle of an unexpected title challenge. Get him out of here.

For me Conte is a godsend and is the best thing to happen to this club since 2012. Anyone calling for him to be sacked regardless of what transpires from now till the end of the season is officially insane and an enemy of this club.

What could he have done though, specifically about the starting XI for this game? Maybe start Ake as the LWB instead of Azpi (who in truth looked absolutely clueless). When Alonso was out with illness, I knew we were in trouble because most of our good play in the last few games has come from our left side with interchange between him and Eden. Our squad is weak and lightweight. Man United have a much deeper and stronger squad than we do. We have no pure alternative for Alonso. One mistake Conte made was letting Baba Rahman go and another was not quickly integrating Ake in the team after he returned from loan. Like I said, he could have played LWB and is a better fit as a CB in a back 3 than Zouma is.

Kante is actually part of the problem because he doesn't keep his position. He's not a DM like some say he is, he is a roaming midfielder who goes about trying to make interceptions. He rarely keeps his position. With a pure DM, Conte will probably be less cautious about pairing said hypothetical pure DM next to Fabregas. Finding an ideal partner for Kante is not that straightforward unfortunately.

Roman, the Russian woman, Conte and Emenalo have to be extremely ruthless in the summer. We are carrying a lot of garbage now Costa, Cahill and Matic have to be sold. Moses and Pedro are not first XI material for a club with any real ambition despite their good performances this season. Willian and Fabregas are squad players at best. We've been banging on about this shit for how long now. We finished 10th last season and see who our fucking board signed to back our manager. I'm never one to question Roman's ambition but I'm starting to get concerned now.
