Gundogan?! I love the man but he's been injured for AGES and is never better than Reus. He's Dortmund's best player without a doubt. I also love Vidal and Pogba (being a follower of Juve) but they're not better than Reus. Personally would have Reus in my team over Robben and Di Maria (but that might be just me). Aguero and Silva good shouts. 6 Bayern players. Just Ha. And finallly, suggesting Thiago Alcantara better than Reus is one of the most hilarious things I have ever heard in my entire life. Next you'll be telling me that Zamora is better than Costa. xD.

We just pity those people izzy . Best 10 players in the world (IMO) goes: Ronaldo, Messi, Bale, King Zlatan, Suarez, Bastian, Neymar, Hazard, Reus, James Rodriguez. So to me he's in the top 10. I love DMs and CBs as much as the next man, but unfortunately there just aren't that many good ones around ATM. Best is probably Ramos/Silva and they're around the top 20 mark.

He's also taken on the armband a few times in games when subs were made to my memory (if my memory serves me correctly). I agree he's a little bit combustible though, we don't want our captain getting sent off and missing 3 games. Getting the captaincy may calm him down a bit though, you never know. And you can't read too much into captaining your country. The most experienced (best) players usually get it no matter how good leaders they are (case in point, bosnia's captain = Dzeko, who would be bottom of the list for good captains).

I'm worried about this transfer. We wanted Hazard - we got him. We wanted Fabregas - we got him. We wanted Costa - we got him. If we get Reus too.... It'll all be going too well, I don't trust it. Maybe my English nature makes me wary - when something looks too good to be true, it almost always is.
-
Can you really name 14 players better than him? I think he's a top 10 player, seriously I do.
-
Well yeah that would be perfect for both teams too. Careful though, 3 players NEVER EVER EVER EVER get transferred in 1 transfer. What do you think you're doing? This isn't Football Manager! Go back to playing FIFA! (All sarcasm I hope you realise, hate when people say that kind of shit. Too many people that do that on this forum). In all seriousness then I think that would work for everyone except Cech. He's probably good enough to be at a better club than BVB (no disrespect to BVB, but Cech would start in every team in the world except Chelsea, Bayern, Real (he's better than Casillas, but they dare not drop him) and maybe Juve. He'll probably end up at PSG. Would love it to happen though .

Yeah you're right about the calculation mistake, but like you said my statement still stands. Tbh i'd rather have Remy on my bench over Dzeko. He's better to my mind. Maybe not as good as Jovetic though. It's all opinion though, I persoanlly don't think there is any way that Milner is better than Willian, and no way Nasri is a whole point better than him either. Or that Kolarov is as good as Felipe Luis. At least you got my general meaning behind the whole thing though.

Yup. People might be being put off by his age (especially considering JT hasn't showed any signs of slowing down yet) though. Would be very short term. And Fabregas is a born leader, the only one other than JT that we have tbh, that's why he has a lot of votes. And Jt looks like playing beyond this year so Fab would've been here for 2 years by then.

Moyes confirmed as Real Sociedad manager. RIP Sociedad :/

These guys do alright, as well as old greats like Zoff, Yashin, Shilton and Kahn. Probably among the best captains in the world. GKs are usually the loudest on the pitch after all and can see the whole game play out in front of them. For me CB is the best position for a captiain but after that CDM and GK.

Just got my missus Hazard 10 for her birthday. Took her fucking ages to choose between him, Azpi and Fabregas. Women .

Now this is a little bit interesting. He hasn't just been good at Southampton... He's been absolutely fantastic. Have we burned our bridges do you reckon or does anyone think there is any chance that Mourinho would try and call him back next year? I personally think for his own good he should stay at Southampton and we can promote Ake as our 4th choice FB (like this year tbh) and there is little to no chance of it happening. But it would be fascinating to see him come back to the club after being pretty much written off nearly a year ago.
-
Depends. It would probably help Schurrle's career playing week in, week out in an easier league. Reus might think like that?
-
He's been poor. Well and truly dislodged by Sokratis. He's probably fallen behind Ginter too now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go in one of the next 2 transfer windows.
-
Yeah but the general consensus is that they regret that now. Doubt they'll make their fans go through that again.
-
My brother is a huge Dortmund fan and I suggested this to him a few weeks ago (Schurrle +£10M for Reus) and he said that he reckons Dortmund would snap our hands off. They're essentially getting a great like-for-like replacement (not as good, but still) for essentially £10M, and then they have £10M extra cash to reinvest in getting a GK that isn't Weidenfeller.
-
Hence why if we signed Reus then shifting Azpi to RB and having Luis at LB would be the only option. I think we wouldn't lose much defensively because we'd essentially be trading Willian and Brana for Luis and Reus. Not much of a step down defensively but a big step up offensively, IMO.
-
Wouldn't mind Jones (doubt that'll be a popular opinion, but I think he could develop into something really good at CB if played there consistently and tutored by a decent manager), Henderson, Sterling or Barkley. But all of them (barring possibly Sterling) would only make the bench. Every other England player isn't even good enough for our bench or is downright unattainable (Rooney/Hart/Baines) But they'd all be astronomical in price, so it is largely irrelevant what we want, unless we fancy paying £30M for an only good player just for the nationality. The only chance we've got is one of our young englishmen developing well into squad players (Baker/Swift/Solanke/Chalobah/Bamford/RLC/Brown). And I have high hopes that at least 3 of them will be in our 23 man squad within 2/3 years (my money is on Bamford, Brown and Baker)

Don't have the code to invite you, sorry :/.

3rd in the Classic League, 27th in the H2H League

Matic throwing his name into that hat for our next captain? . He's definitely un-droppable, spent some of his young career at this club and if he starts showing leadership qualities by giving team talks like that then I guess he has to at least be in with a shout with people like Ivan and Cahill.

Who do u want to see start in the FB positions?

You are right, there is a big debate to be had. We're spoiled tbh, we've got 3 top quality full backs. -
West Brom are really really really shit. And their manager is so far out of his depth it's crazy. On paper our easiest match of the season IMO. However, WBA always seems to give us a hard game (annoyingly), Berahino is on top form and it'll still be November >.<

It's a hard question. I think Azpilicueta has to play. I think he's quality anyway and when fellow ex-pros like Carragher and Neville say he's the best defender in the league (especially when they are ex-pros of rival teams) then you just have to take notice. His 1vs1 defending is unparalleled and as such I think he needs to be picked when fit and available. As to who to go with him... That's a difficult matter. Both are similar ages, Ivan is better going forwards and Luis better defensively. Mentioned this in another thread but while we're playing Willian/Schurrle/Ramires at RW we need some attack from our RB to help. So I have to choose Ivan and have Azpi LB. However, if we sign a great true attacking RW (like Reus) then I would be happier dropping Ivan to the bench and having Luis/Azpi as the fullbacks, which would be stunning in defence and bordering on impenetrable.
