  1. Andrey Arshavin could be on his way to Chelsea in the summer, as Arsenal close in on deals for young stars Eden Hazard and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Russian midfielder has endured a dip in form in recent months, amid speculation he is unhappy at The Emirates. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has publicly backed Arshavin but, according to the News of the World, plans to offload him at the end of the season. Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation and ready to make a bid for the 29-year-old as soon as they receive an indication Arsenal are prepared to sell. Arshavin's departure is unlikely to leave the Gunners short of creativity, as Wenger is apparently confident of bringing in two exciting young talents. According to the Mail on Sunday, Arsenal have beaten off competition from Liverpool and Manchester City to land Southampton midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain. They will pay an initial fee of £7 million for the 17-year-old, but the deal could eventually be worth £10 million. Wenger is also upbeat about his chances of landing Lille's Belgium international Hazard, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid. No fee has been agreed for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder yet, but he is keen to join Arsenal during the summer transfer window. -------------------- Source: Metro | -------------------- I was shocked when I saw this. But I have to say, it's not a bad option, and would probably be cheaper if we can't tempt Sanchez. The only problem.... Arshavin is on bad form at the moment.
  2. Returning in March would be really good. At least he would play some part in the last three months of the season, depending which part of March he's meant to return!
  3. "Pien-arse" is what I'm going to call him in future. He didn't want to be an average player... well that's because he is one. Players who demand too much don't deserve to wear a Chelsea shirt IMO. If you're going to wear the shirt, do so with pride, not with pockets. He'll rot at Spurs anyway. They don't even need a player like him.
  4. Just saw this in a article about Chelsea just now! Excellent news I have to say.... Ancelotti did however have some good news for Blues fans, revealing that Yossi Benayoun is nearing a return to action after his lengthy injury lay-off. "Benayoun is 14 weeks after his surgery and I think he needs to have another six to eight weeks more recovery. Everything is okay he just needs more time." -------------------------------- Source: Fulham Chronicle --------------------------------
  5. Ahh well, who cares. Only the Chelsea website can tell us officially if things are true or not!
  6. Very good point, what's interesting enough, is what sort of a role Ancelotti is in while all of this "supposed" happenings is going on. Does he get to make a decision on what happens and what doesn't?? That's what I want to know.
  7. Then in that case, there's no way it can be true! Unless SkySports are dubbing it to be true, otherwise why would they make a big deal over it?
  8. As long as the BBC website say something about that, then I'm inclined to believe it. SkySports are saying it on their website, but I can't decipher if I should believe the SkySports website or not?
  9. Definitely agree. The only real reason I could see us swapping Kalou is if we have strong plans to sign Sanchez as well as David Luiz. But Ancelotti has already denied this according to Sky Sports, and I can understand why, since Roman is hiding his money away, and losing £50 million is risky, so it's best to keep him at least until the summer comes around. Then again, if Benfica want Kalou in any deal for Luiz, how are you going to tempt Roman to sign Sanchez as well, as a replacement for him. £50 million for Sanchez and Luiz, and didn't we lose £40 million at some point??
  10. Frank Lampard is hopeful of playing a key role in the development of Chelsea's young midfielder Josh McEachran. The 17-year-old has recently found himself in manager Carlo Ancelotti's first-team plans following a catalogue of injuries at the club. McEachran has made 13 appearances so far this season, with many admiring the player's talents and hailing him as a long-term successor for the prolific Lampard. The 32-year-old England midfielder feels that his young apprentice is destined to become a top player and will be right behind him in developing his talents if he is asked. "Other clubs show great examples of that with players like Ryan Giggs helping people around them and you do have to take that responsibility on," Lampard told the club's official website. "Particularly with young Josh coming into midfield it is quite a nice responsibility. He is going to be a top player and it is enjoyable to try to help him. "I enjoy playing with the young players because they bring a real freshness into the team and into training. "Josh has outstanding ability so although I talk to him to try to help him, probably very soon he will be helping me." -------------------------- Source:- SkySports -------------------------- Really does warm me up to know that Lampard is making plans to do this with McEachran! It makes it all the more important to keep him here, and hopefully turn him into a one club man, rather than send him out on loan!
  11. Only Fools and Horses has to be one of the funniest shows out there. Uncle Albert is funny as hell! And David Jason is legendary as Del Boy. That scene where he falls through the bar is probably one of the funniest scenes ever
  12. I would like to class Graeme Le Saux as an intelligent player when he was playing for us.
  13. Terry has a terrible injury status so we can all expect it
  14. This is a good idea actually. At least Mark Hughes will nurture him into a decent player, and Fulham is just down the road to Chelsea
  15. Carlo: "It's not true!" how many times has he said that??
  16. I would have thought offering them Ferreira would have been the much better Choice. I only say that because.... Kalou may have had a poor season with us this season, but for some reason or another, he is the closest we have to a right winger, which is what we lack anyway. At least in the right back position, you have the likes of Bosingwa, with Brano as good cover (even though he doesn't like playing there).... we don't need Ferreira, and much as I respect everything he has done with us since 2004, he just isn't the same player anymore. He's very vulnerable at times and is very lightweight compared to those above him in the pecking order. Time for Ferreira to move on I think.
  17. Either Luiz OR Sanchez will join us this month. We can't afford both players
  18. Hell no! Unless Luiz plays at right back??
  19. Chelsea are increasingly confident of landing prime transfer target David Luiz from Benfica. The Stamford Bridge outfit have already had a straight cash bid of £16.5million for the Brazilian rejected by the Portuguese club and a revised and improved offer which saw Paulo Ferreira added to the mix in part exchange. That was also turned down but with Benfica having signed Luiz’ replacement already having landed fellow countryman Jardel on a five-and-a-half year deal, Chelsea believe it is a question of time. Chelsea will table a third bid, perhaps as high as £22million, by the end of this week and expect to complete the signing well before the window shuts on January 31. ---------------------------------- Source: Mirror Football ---------------------------------- Interesting
  20. This is great news! I'm glad Pienaar isn't joining us... This is the incentive to sign Alexis Sanchez (or David Luiz) I don't think we have enough funds to get both unfortunately.
  21. Looking at those choices, I see Sanchez as the better choice. The other two are far too young. And you know what happens when we try to raise young players too quickly. Plus, a lot of pressure will be on Neymar, a 17/18-year-old to deliver, especially when there's a £30m price tag slapped on his forehead!
  22. Holy shit I thought that looked like a real picture
  23. so was I dude At the end of the day, we need whoever we can get... as long as we have the depth in the squad ...
