McEachran is a quality player, but it goes back to the point I made about developing youngsters too quickly. The fact of the matter is, we need to freshen the squad in any way we can, and if they reckon McCarthy fits in their categories, then I'm all for it. The more players we have, the bigger the depth, the tougher the competition for places, the best we will get out of players.

What I don't seem to grasp however, is the fact that this has been said in the past, and we haven't materialised on it. In other words, whenever we have plans to sign top quality players, we either get told to get lost, or... if we're really lucky, we get into negotiations and they just break down. The fact of the matter is (annoying as this may sound) the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have abaolutely no problems at all.

Dude, if you were to see the form of Anelka this season so far, you will find that statement isn't true!

He's certainly in his prime alright, but he's playing in a team that is not competing in the best competition in Europe or playing for any trophies, and you wonder why he wants to move. Torres would simply be wasted at Liverpool if he stays there any longer.
