Why would there be any reason for Mikel starting? Matic, despite the circumstances against Swansea still bossed whatever sort of midfield we had! Mikel should not be within touching distance of the starting XI. Either Oscar or Ramires should start alongside and Fabregas be dropped.. I still don't understand how Mikel has lasted this long at our club to be honest. Not saying it'll happen, but I wouldn't be surprised he gets sold by 1st September! Suppose the sale of Mikel would only happen if Jose had an instant replacement in mind.. Aranguiz.. Witsel.. but nope, he's said nothing's happening!

If Augsburg have rejected a £25m bid for Rahman that's ridiculous! I'm still unconvinced this guy is the right mould for our defence, I've never actually seen him play.. I agree to that, but because Ivanovic is one of Jose's "generals", there's no way he would get dropped! I feel this is going to be the season where we discover Ivanovic's weaknesses! He's a year old from last season, and he isn't getting any younger now. At 31, with a build like he has, yeah he's solid in games and last season, he scored some REALLY important goals, but defensively, against small, pacy, low-central gravity players, he's fucking hopeless, because he can't keep up with them! Guys like Azpilicueta have no problem dealing with quick players because he's young, and he doesn't hold back in chasing them up and going in for a tackle! With Brano, he's half-way up the pitch trying to put in a cross, then when we lose the ball, he has all that way to get back, suddenly there are open spaces to the right where the opposition can operate freely! I'm starting to think maybe selling Filipe Luis back to Atletico was more of a bad idea than I'm making out... because Azpi could have easily slotted into RB, making Ivanovic work harder for his place, and Luis would have made the LB spot his own. It would have been a chance for Filipe to get more games under his belt and show Jose the grit he gave playing for Atletico before he joined us. If last summer's transfer market was clockwork, this summer is the complete opposite! No improvements made! (slightly gone off topic with this bottom line, but had to be said!)

We were an embarrassment to be honest! What annoys me, is that we sell Petr Cech to Arsenal of all teams, then Courtois gets a red card in the opening game! Begovic though, can't take away the fact that he was solid when he came on.. made some great saves, but what that means now, is that we've not won any of our last 6 games within 90 minutes! And next week we have City away! Can't even contemplate the situation right now! Need to lie down!

It honestly feels like our team has a stroke!! On the right hand side, we look too sluggish and slow, and Swansea have the wind in their sails every time they go forward. Montero is pulling all the strings for them, passing, running into space, and in doing so, he's allowing himself to be an extra man near the box, which is killing Ivanovic especially because in comparison, he can't keep up with him! Overall, great free kick from Oscar for 1-0.. really unfortunate for our defence to fail at the last minute at 1-1, and then a bit of luck from Willian's effort for 2-1.. I really feel like we need a new right back just so we can keep Ivanovic on his toes! One that's faster than him, and can get back quickly! Ivanovic is a year older from last season, and yeah I understand he tackles with no mess and is in important positions to score goals, but going up against small, young players with a low centre of gravity.. he is next to garbage!

Montero for them... really has caused us a lot of problems! Can't handle his pace at the moment!
