First time I saw Gael play was a youth team game at The Bridge, think it was against Cardiff, and I'm sad to say that I wrote off his first team chances within 20 minutes of kick-off. I've been as disappointed as anyone with Mykhailo, but I'm not at the point yet where I've written him off. Already feels though that the early part of the season will be his last chance saloon.

Anyone who scrolls back a couple of years in the correct thread will bump into a post of mine recommending Cesc as a future Chelsea manager.

Welcome to the Blue side Pat. (Proper Blue, not wishy-washy pretend blue.)
-
Me, I'm sorry to say. I don't believe in Ethan at all.

The confirmation of this deal brings in the last of the players we were strongly linked with this window, other than Hannah Hampton. There is though one more big name player, Kadidiatou Diani of PSG, who we have been linked with. That rumour does not sound at all reliable mind you. Diani is a top level, right-sided, attacker but she has the reputation of being a trouble-maker.

Great ambition by Pool. (If true.)

I don't agree, but we'll never know. Good luck to both players on their next step.

We are where we are and contemplating unrealistic goals can't help. No question, our squad should be a lot better considering the money spent. It isn't however, so we have to reconstruct. Soundly.

Very nice bloke. I wish him well.

Yet. 🙂🙂
-
Sold a dummy by Pep I reckon 😒.

How the other half live eh? I spent midsummer's night on Box Hill drinking strawberry and lime flavoured cider. Where did it all go wrong? 😒 Great view of the setting Sun, the Moon, and Venus mind.

Do we even qualify as amateurs? 🙂
-
With luck top five might be enough to qualify for the newly expanded Champions League next season.

Hope Ethan finds a good move.

Looks a talent. Everybody must be keeping tabs on him.

In a dramatic move which won't send shockwaves reverberating around the football world, Bayern have signed a BVB player on a free! Another transfer window, same old story. Who needs a multi-club model when the entire game in your country is really just and extension of your club's academy?

I like the more optimistic take on Noni, even if I can't really say that I share it. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Malo can deliver. If he's a solid positive that will make him a big piece in the squad.
-
Has he lived up to billing sufficiently well to command the kind of fee Madrid would no doubt want? (Just to be clear this is a question, not an opinion.)
-
I think we have to allow the negotiators to do their work. When we are chasing a player, I often read opinions which say something like, "Stop low balling and just pay the asking price." Then, when we are selling, we get, " Stop messing about, and just take what we're offered." Those two points of view seem a bit contradictory to me.
-
I hope that you are right. After a promising cameo against Fulham, my opinion of Noni quickly went downhill. I came to feel that he is too much of a one trick pony. From his second game onward it was clear that sides defended him with one defender facing up, and another stationed a few yards to that defender's right covering Noni's check onto his left foot. That greatly reduces the threat of his trick, if not totally nullifies it all together. I'm not expecting consistent contributions, or many starts from Noni. Anything above that and he will prove me significantly wrong. We all end up with opinions which we feel are worth defending. I find however, that it is very easy to let negative ideas about Chelsea players go if contradictory evidence comes in. I hope that is how it will go for me with Noni.

Yes, but it was Billy Gallas.

Nor can I prove my statement any longer. I was posting on CFCNet in 2011 but the original version of that site has closed down in the last year so everything posted there has gone. That said, I have been posting here since about 2016 and have mentioned what I said about Lukaku quite a few times. Maybe that counts a bit. 🙂

Thankfully this is a song you will never have to sing again. The truth is out of the box about Rom and it's never going back in. For the record I told people in 2011 that Rom was not then, and never would be, good enough for Chelsea.
