It is good for Rhys that he has signed a new deal. However i was unsure of what his future would be. He has suffered recently with a few injuries, but at the same time his performances have not been quite the improvement we would have wanted to see. Clearly the club feel he can still develop more, and i hope when he comes back from injury he can start to make those improvements, a loan spell at some point in the future will be good for him too...

BBC have reported Rhys Taylor will be training with Crewe during the pre-season. He has signed a new contract for Chelsea, so a transfer is not in question. He had a loan spell previously with QPR, and with him at the bottom of the pecking order, could he be off on loan again?

With the new Czech goalie for Sigma Olemeuc (sp?) coming in 12 mon from now, you'd have to imagine that Taylor is doubting his long term future. Isn't the also another Czech goalie name Sebek on the roster as well?

Indeed, there is a keeper on our books called Jan Sebek.

And which new Czech Goalkeeper? i think your on about Matej Delac? He's Croation. we bought him, loaned him back to his previous club.. Inter Zapresic...

or are you talking about Tomas Kalas, who does indeed play Sigma Olomouc, but he isn't a goalkeeper, he's a central defender :)

Taylor extends Millers stay

Chelsea goalkeeper Rhys Taylor has extended his loan deal at Rotherham until the end of the season.

The Wales Under-21 keeper arrived for an initial month earlier in January and the paperwork on his prolonged deal has now been completed.

Taylor, 21, has never appeared for Chelsea's first team, but made a total of 49 appearances while on loan at Crewe last season and has started Rotherham's last four matches following Conrad Logan's return to Leicester.
