Just coming through on BBC news that Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton will spend the New Year in prison after being denied bail by Liverpool City Magistrates Court after his altercation in Liverpool in the early hours of Boxing Night.

Barton will remain in Prison until Thursday(3rd Jan) where he will face charges of common assault and afray.

If Barton had any other occupation he would be sacked on-the-spot.Why the PFA defend thugs like him is beyond me.Fair enough,JT and Dennis Wise had their brush with the law but learnt from their mistakes.With Barton it does'nt seem to compute as he does have History relating to violence.

Newcastle won't sack him as he would become a free agent,and there are clubs that would be stupid enough to employ him.

One thing is for sure,Mr Capello won't even piss on him after this latest chapter.

Barton would'nt of played against us regardless.Injured me thinks.

It's not only me.Certain quaters of the media are calling for Barton to be kicked out of football,but because of the clout the PFA have in the game it just would'nt happen what with the PFA being one of the strongest unions around.
