We didnt actually go in, though i know exactly where you mean because we got picked up outside it to come home!

Erm, theres plenty of em. We went for a long weekend and spent most of that fairly intoxicated but if i remember correctly theres kind of a square with some main nightclub and a Australian bar. Theres a fair few coffee shops around there.

When we went things we pretty much the same price as over here, maybe a tad cheaper. But with the euro now and all that- its probs not much different.

Theres a good few cheap bars around, pretty easy to spot.

One thing i would recommend (which isnt typical Amsterdam) is a tour round Ajax. Its easy to get to, you just need to take a couple of trams and its near enough to the station. Its impressive.
