Madmax 9,219
I don't see him going in the Jan window. Next summer it could be possible though.
5354 204
He definitely won"t be leaving till next season... Anyway, it seems like it is a bad idea to get Russian or eastern europe players who doesn't speak English, it makes communication worst. 5354 204
Ivanovic? Cech? Matic?Shevchenko? Matic? They don't count as "sucessful" for me.
Manuf 1,448
What does his English have to do with him being on the bench? When Cole was injuried he was superb. And how can you rate Matic as unsucessful if he hadn't play that much. Oh and btw players like Ramires, Alex, Drogba, Essien, Kalou, Bosingwa etc didn't know English either when they came here... 5354 204
On the pitch they need to communicate and a common language is definitely required. I don't believe such thing called "football language" thats bs for a top team.If Carlo cannot deliver what he wants Zhrikov to do, how the hell is he able to perform well?If he does not even make it to the XI, do you think he is really that highly rated? You defintely have your opinions, but this is what I felt on Eastern Europe players. chrismada9 1,948
But Malouda could play on the right, isn't it?He can, but then there's Anelka to shift in the team, and I reckon Kakuta is being taught to play at right wing as well. Madmax 9,219
Yuri Zhirkov to consider Chelsea future"I'll certainly get a chance in the next few months and I'll try to use it completely," Zhirkov said. "Then, in the winter, everything will probably depend on whether I got this chance and how I used it."We are currently in brilliant form and getting past [Florent] Malouda and [Ashley] Cole is problematic. Everyone understands about the competition: once you are on the bench you can be there for a long time. But I will definitely get a chance."The thoughts when you are watching your team play are always the same: you support, worry and your soul wants to be on the pitch to help."Source : ESPN Soccernet
- 25 - 167
He'll get games this season. We're in too many competitions for him not to. That said I'd of though we'd accept a bid of anything more than we paid for him.
Luke 60
Although we have yet to see anything from him that the hype suggested, we shouldnt sell him, he will get games this season, hopefully in his prefered position, if he doesnt step up, then get next summer. BomTrett 50
I dont doubt that he's a good player, but as Zhirkov has said himself, Ashley and Florent are in such fantastic form, he'll struggled to get past them and into the team. I think he'll probably end up leaving unfortunately, even though he played for Russia the other day, Dick Advocaat has said he wants players like, Zhirkov, Pavlyuchenko and Bilyatedinov to play more regularly if they are to have a guarenteed place.I wouldnt want him to leave, just think he might end up leaving. LDN Blue 7,903
I wouldn't blame Zhirkov if he left. I think we should possibly consider loaning him out in January, please don't get me wrong though, I love Yuri. But I also want to see him grow as a player and perhaps with the form Ash and Malouda are in now, it may be hard for him to breakthrough.
