Great transfer for english football. Ideal scenario for me would be for Owen to do awesome next season but Man Utd only get like the Carling Cup or FA Cup maximum. I love Michael Owen, watched him since he was 15 and i hope he can revitalise his career now. Fergie could've just saved Michael Owen's career. Hopefully he gets in that world cup squad, we should've picked him up when we had the chance. Big opportunity missed imo. Hes still got it.

I don't think Owen would produce much on Chelsea, he lost his pace and strength he once had and wouldn't compete with Drogba/Anelka.

Different players. Owen is the sort of player who manoeuvres himself into positions where he can tap in rebounds. Anelka plays of the verge of the last man and likes to get most of his goals by running on to through-balls. They might have similar traits, but Owen is a goal-poacher like van Nistelrooy, and that is what United need.

Well as i (we) keep saying i wanna see Anelka n Drogba in a 4-4-2 more often. Anelka was great last season but still went missing a bit for 3 months in the middle. If owen managed to play 38 league games up front, he would definitely get 20+ and i actually want him to do well next season.

England have better forwards than micheal owen i dont think he will go to south africa.
