Milan 17,964
Cech questions Scolari skysports.com Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has questioned former Blues manager Luiz Felipe Scolari's decision to alter training half way through last season. Scolari took over at Stamford Bridge last summer and enjoyed an excellent start as head coach in the Premier League. However, the Blues' form steadily deteriorated and the Brazilian was axed in February with Guus Hiddink installed as his successor. Speaking after his departure from West London, Scolari, who is now in charge of Bunyodkor, claimed Cech, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba had contributed to his downfall. Reflecting on Scolari's reign, Cech explained that he did speak with the experienced coach about his change in methods during the team's downturn. "I always had a huge respect for Mr Scolari and then suddenly in the middle of the season we had a change in the way we trained the goalkeepers," the shot-stopper told The Independent. "It changed the way we could work and I was surprised because the way we had been training was getting results, keeping clean sheets and we had the best defensive record in the league. "Then suddenly we had a complete change which I couldn't understand. "In the end, he was the manager and you have to respect what the manager wants. I was not happy and I told him but you play for the team and not yourself so I respected him and adapted. We tried to do it the way he wished." BlueLion. 21,491
Scolari is as tactically astute as my left bollock, in fairness. Sounds like a muppet for changing the training routine as well.
