DavidEU 2,023
Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is close to joining Wigan for a second spell as their manager, with the Latics hoping to unveil a new boss early this week. "We look like we have a contract agreed but nothing has been signed," Wigan chairman Dave Whelan told Radio 5 Live. Wigan could have to pay as much as £3m in compensation to Birmingham. "There's a clause and we have to honour that," added Whelan. "We've agreed that with Birmingham. To get a manager of Steve's quality I think is a bargain."More here.Actually think this is a stepback for Bruce to be honest.
We Hate Scouse 10,326
He didn't stand much chance at birmingham really, I think the bloke thats taking them over was going to get rid of him anyway.
True_Blue 469
Wigan are relegation battlers....Birmingham city are not.....at least not at the moment. It would be a wrong move by Bruce to leave, and a wrong move by City to dump him. Ollie 4,400
If he takes that job, he's a complete and utter nutcase, pure and simple. Hes been under so much pressure in recent years with birmingham, about staying up and getting back up, why do the same with someone else? Crazyness. Elliott 7
Of course Birmingham are relegation battlers TrueBlueI can totally understand why he's doing this. It's got nothing to do with how he's done at Birmingham, its because he's obviously not received assurances of his job from Carson Yeung, and would rather move to keep a solid job. Fair play to him really.
avstu™ 5
Fair play to him. The potato head has spent so much money with Birmingham thats why hes done so well with them. A lot of people dont seem to look at that. he got birmingham promoted and then signed about 15 players this summer.Carson Yeung doesnt look like he will complete his take over as the prats at St Andrews are getting impatient. I can see Wigan getting relegated along with the shite.
ChrisGnu 0
Bit silly to go there when hes settled at Birmingham and they're doing quite well.Wigan are still going down in my opinion.

He's going for better job security. At Wigan he knows his job security is tied to how well he does, not what the upcoming new owner decides on a whim.
