Ivanovic rules out summer exit

Branislav Ivanovic has ended a sensational week by pledging his future to Chelsea Football Club.

The Serbian international defender was signed by Avram Grant for £9million last January, but the Israeli coach bizarrely didn’t include the player in the first team for the remainder of the season.

Ivanovic has since been used sparingly by the Blues, but he started against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday and scored twice in the 3-1 Anfield win.

This will no doubt have caught the attention of Manchester City and both Milan clubs who have shown interest in the past, but the player insists he now wants to concentrate on becoming a regular at Stamford Bridge.

“About the rumours that I will leave Chelsea, I would like to say that I want to stay here. I am very happy to play for Chelsea,” Ivanovic told gazzetta.gr.

I've heard about the rumours either. I think this is the time we should give him an opportunity to show what he actually got. Since he wasnt the choosen one.

I would have him as the first choice right back. Hes been solid there for us and hes a great threat at corners. I believe hes a better defender than Bosingwa even tho bos is brilliant at attacking, i would try Ivanovic at RB and bosingwa as a winger. Can see it working a right treat.

That's really nice to read. He was brilliant for Loko, he is brilliant for Serbia and I'm sure he will be brilliant for Chelsea as well. Just give him his chances in the first team, he deserves it.

Im also think he deserves the first team. Yesterday match, none of us ever predict that he'll gave us a twice goals.
