Style of play through the years

Hi everyone new to here! Being of a younger generation my 1st proper memory of Chelsea is Mourinho 1st season so have mainly known as a pragmatic team but wondering have we always been known for this or have we ever played the "sexy football" as people call it?

The "sexy football" is relatively new imo, some say pep started it but watching man utd all them years ago under fergie they played some magical stuff also as much as I hate to say it arsenal have always had that style under wenger, but genuinely speaking English football of old used to be dirty and direct lol

Pretty sure that 'sexy football' term was coined by Gullit during Euro 1996 when he was working as a pundit and I'm pretty sure we were labelled with that during his managerial tenure here.

I think some of the football we played in the late 90's under Gullit and then Vialli was very exciting (it certainly felt like it at the time).

Sexy footy or otherwise, I just want winning footy. For what its worth I loved the JM years, loved Guss first time out, CA was cool too, Conte first season was amazing and what I have seen from TT's Chels I utterly love, its proper.

In the old days of football you could n't fail to admire cfc sexy football. We also had Raquel Welch as mascot.
Also Leeds, Keegan's pool and Cloughie's Forest.
Some other teams were horrible to watch. I used to live two blocks from Highbury and never went in - unimaginable bore.

Today's football is not sexy, in England, in Italy, eveerywhere. The defenses eat people.
