Ashley Cole urges Chelsea to finish jobWhen Chelsea last faced Rosenborg in the Champions League, Jose Mourinho was still at the helm and the west London side were struggling to produce their best form. The 1-1 draw against the Norwegian club proved to be Mourinho's last game in charge at Stamford Bridge, as he left in controversial circumstances the next day.Avram Grant was the shock choice to succeed the 'Special One', but the Israeli coach has surprised a number of critics with his attacking approach and Chelsea are unbeaten over the last 12 games. He has rejuvenated the club in the Premier League and the Champions League and wins over Valencia and Schalke mean a victory in Trondheim tomorrow will put them through to the knockout stages of the competition.Defender Ashley Cole knows the importance of sealing qualification for the next phase, as he does not want the club to be sweating on their last game against Valencia to ensure they remain in the competition. He said: "It would be good to wrap up the job there. We know that it's going to be freezing cold and a hard game, but a win would put us through."Cole believes Chelsea's recent good form could be undermined by the absence of influential midfielder Michael Essien, who starts a three-match ban on Saturday. Essien was sent off against Derby last weekend for pushing Kenny Miller in the face at Pride Park and will miss the league games against West Ham, Sunderland and leaders Arsenal on Dec 16.Cole is hoping that Steve Sidwell can use the chance to prove his worth. He added: "We're not happy with the decision with Essien. It didn't look like he really caught him. He does that every day in training. It's just the way he is. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone. He just plays hard. He's not a nasty player."It's going to be tough without him but Steve Sidwell did brilliantly and it's great to have him to come in."We need to go on a nice run now - 10, 15 games - to push us up there. If we keep on doing that then we have a good chance. We need to maintain it over Christmas, when the games come thick and fast. As long as we keep everybody fit we have a chance."
