Radamel Falcao

I think Falcao is an option to think seriously and coldly.

I've been following this guy since Porto and he is the best Pure forward I've seen in my life. A murderer of the box perfect to play in small spaces with teams
enclosed back defensively. Exactly what we need.

Falcao also is a specialist in making goals in important matches (especially in the finals).

It is true he has had two significant injuries, and this season he has shown not fully recovered physically from his injury. But it is also true that the blame for his poor performance was Van Gaal that has been dedicated to demoralize him since the beginning of the season.

With Jose would be totally different. Falcao would come to the Bridge with a manager who fully trust him and would feel supported from the beginning to be extra-motivated.

This summer Falcao plays Colombia in the American Cup and I am quite sure that his performance will be totally different. His big problem was motivational. Van Gaal did not want his signing and when Van Gaal does not want a player he forgets him totally.

And I think the comparison with Fernando Torres makes no sense. Torres was a very overrated player in Liverpool and his signing was a mistake. But Falcao has been one hundred thousand times better than Torres. There is no comparison between them.

And, in addition, to win Champions League we need experienced players.

And Falcao would be the best way to improve Diego Costa, encouraging strong competition between them. and with Falcao + Diego Costa we could play at certain times of the season with two forward as a new tactical variant.

Falcao is 29, he is still young to think that he's finished. His loan would be a great signing.

Regards.

How the fuck is Falcao still a thing?!

I guess I should not be surprised that he still has his fans when even Torres still had his right to the end of his Chelsea career..

Falcao only had one bad season, how can you compare it with what Torres did in like 3 years (and the amount of chances he got in those years)? Falcao injury was an awful one, and the move to United was not right for him.

After such injury, absence for a full year, he needed to play and LVG's United is not the right team for his profile, LVG likes ball playing strikers who can play outside the box and Falcao is a different striker. i think he deserves another season, to see if maybe he can get back to himself, at least some of the player he was, with a different team and more game time.

Reduced wages and a loan why not.

Yes I know it would be nice and romantic for Bamford to come in and be Harry Kane mark 2, but he will probably need a PL loan before a full assessment is done on his long term chances here.

Even if he is as bad as he was at United or worse flops as bad as Torres it won't be that big a deal on a loan with low wages aswell as Costa and Remy around.

One beyond terrible season after a semi retired season in Monaco where he was out-scored by Salomon Kalou with a weaker Lille team.

He's not getting his main asset, his pace, back after that injury, and it's evident that he has lost his finishing touch. There is literally NOTHING at the moment that would make anyone want him except his name. He's showed nothing footballing wise that would make a club like Chelsea want him in a long time.

I think we've had enough of signing washed up ex-stars because they are marketable.

I think the major difference will be with our medical staff we have a real knack at making unfit players feel much better.

The key is to get him after the Copa De America, if he shows he's again ready to compete at a high level then its a no brainer.

The important thing is he allegedly wants to come here.

Im not saying we should sign him or not, but i think you're being very harsh on him. "lost his finishing touch"? thats something he can get back. Sure a club like Chelsea dont need to bet on such player to be his 1st or even 2nd stirker, but in another club he can maybe recover to be some of the striker he was. At least he deserves the chance to show it, it was only one season.

Whats Kalou and Lille has to do with him? thats incredibly silly... but at least show the complete picture - Falcao played 18 games in all competitions last season scoring 11 goals for Monaco. Kalou played 38 scoring 18. "out-scored"... come on.

I think you're being a bit too presumptuous.

Most doctors say cruciate ligament tears take about a year and a half to heal properly. Falcao made a couple extremely bad choices this past calendar year, first, he went to play in the toughest league in the world after coming off a serious injury. There was no time for him to adjust to the pace of the league while he was still finding his feet. The next mistake he made was going to a team still trying to find its own identity in Utd. He had gone to a team with an already set philosophy and a way of playing he would've had a better chance to get acclimatized to the league. He basically got lost in Utd's erratic play and couldn't settle; not only that but the desired style Utd chose to employ did not suit his game.

I think he could work here but I wouldn't bring him in unless he has a really good Copa... Use the summer to assess him and if he does well we bring him in on loan.

Maybe I am harsh but it is true. He chose to end his career at the top when he moved to Monaco at the best moment of his career. He now uses his name and past glories to get the most money. The Kalou example was to show how poor a league he was playing in, so you can't really say it was only one bad season when he was semi retired the season before.

Most footballers who have suffered a crutiate ligament tear will tell you that it never heals 100% and you never get your pace back.

I think Falcao is done and he knows it and trying to cahs in on his name which is why he chose his the club that paid the most. Simple as.

It is beyond me why we should the ones taking this nonsensical risk on a player like that. The chances of him returning to anything close to what he showed at Atletico are about the same as you winning the lottery.

Cash in on his name? he could just stay at Monaco if the plan is just to cash in, he'd make more too playing in a tax free state. I agree he has lost his explosiveness but I do think he can be a good - great finisher. Firstly its not like we're asking him to be our first choice striker, its third choice and if he can get back to even 70% he can be useful to us. We're not gonna get a big time striker to come here to sit on the bench, nor can we afford to have a big contract sitting.

Who would you like to get as a 3rd choice striker?

Even though I did think Falcao was brilliant in his last season at Porto and at Atletico, he never played for the elite. He was the king of the EL. Playing for Porto and Atletico is not the same as playing for Chelsea or Barca. Both teams were counter-attacking teams as well, a system in which he thrived. Exploiting spaces behind defences and getting on the end of crosses played into the box. Both teams revolved around him, constantly looking to feed him. Though to be fair, he did produce some incredible individual play as well. I'll never forget how he destroyed Chelsea. Or that goal vs Real. And countless other goals including flying headers and scissor kicks. The man could fly in his physical prime. Spectacular player.

But he was still unproven at the very top end of football. Atletico even did better when he left, with Costa up top. It's possible Falcao was/is like Van Nistelrooy. Fantastic individual but hurts the team overall.

Anyway, I don't see the point of signing him. But what was he thinking anyway? Signs a 5 year contract at Monaco when he's at the top of world, because of the wonderful project. That's his business so that's fine. But then he does everything he can to get away after one year? Doesn't make sense.

Monaco don't want to pay his wages anymore which is why they set up the loan this season to the most desperate club in the world and they'll try to do it again next season, we're not desperate.

If Diego can have a successful operation on his hamstring and is thus expected to miss a lot less games, I'd be happy with Solanke as third choice. Else, Chicharito would be a brilliant third choice and offer us something different than both Diego and Remy. Madrid have not taken the option to sign him and utd don't want him so he'll be available for cheap.

TPO; he had no/minimal say. Look it up, there's a famous, detailed post on reddit.
