BlueLion. 21,491 Posted July 9, 2014 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Highly-rated Croatian midfield sensation Mario Pasalic has joined Chelsea for a fee close to £3 million.The German-born midfielder enjoyed a wonderful first season in the professional game as he netted eleven times in 36 club appearances for Hadjuk Split, with the highlight coming in a 2-1 away triumph over city rivals RNK Split, where he scored both of his team's goals.Pasalic, 19, was included in Croatia's prelimary 30-man World Cup squad, but just missed out on being called up to the final 23-man roster by Niko Kovač.It is widely touted that the young attacking midfielder, who idolises former Blues number 8 Frank Lampard, will return on loan to Hadjuk for the coming season, but he will most likely be included in Chelsea's pre-season European tour beforehand.
