Have been wondering about this. Waiting for it to happen though it probably only will the day Lampard call it quits.

Planning a testimonial for him means the club announcing that they will not be offering him an extension, something I'm not sure they have decided on yet and even if they have, I doubt they'd want to reveal that at this stage of the season.

If he ends up not renewing his contract, then we can plan a testimonial for him ahead of next season or during it or even when he retires from football all together.
