Question regarding "Reported speech", please help. :)

So, you have to put "When does your class finish?" into reported speech.

In book, the solution is: She asked me when my class finished.

But I personally would write: She asked me when did my class finish.

Is my version wrong?

Edit: I didn't know where to put it, so I posted it here.

Both are correct. You can just rename this to 'the homework thread' lol.

As far as I know, the second version is grammatically wrong because you are forming a sentence in the form of a question (verb before subject). But I could be wrong. Been years since I took grammar.

Alright, did a little search and I'm 99% sure that the book's version is the only right one.

Yeah i was going to say just use the book answer lol, i repeated the 2nd one several times in my head sounded right, but you're right about all the grammar shit which i never paid attention to in school :P

Foreigner students are so much better at grammar than native speakers, it is frustrating! :P

It happens in every language...

LOL so true. I am terrible at Arabic grammar. Although, in my defense, it is probably the most complicated in the world.

I don't know, I don't even have yahoo account :D probably someone from my class?

Your class is full of geeks & lazy persons that will surely not try to search any other response that the one on the book, so, you are the master there, no ? :halo:

We call that "tachkill' "التشكيل"

Actually, we never do the "movements" now, its almost impossible when you are listening and writing in the same time, it will demand a huge time to write perfectly and its isnt necessary because most of persons will understand without.
