the wes 7,212
Jose Mourinho believes that Euro 2008 will be a poorer competition because of the absence of the England team. The miserable 3-2 defeat by Croatia at Wembley saw England finish in third place in qualifying Group E and led to the Football Association terminating the contract of head coach Steve McClaren after just 18 games. Former Chelsea manager Mourinho has already emerged as a strong contender to replace McClaren, and the Portuguese has admitted his affinity with the English game. Big loss He told Sky Sports News: "This is sad, a big loss for European football. "I was always a supporter of the England national team and England's clubs. "A European championships without England is not the same as one with them."http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2897100,00.html
