Energy supplier British Gas has reported annual profits of £571m at its residential arm, up from £95m in 2006.

The news came as Centrica, British Gas' parent company, reported a 40% rise in operating profits to £1.95bn. Last month, British Gas said it would raise the amount it charges for gas and electricity by 15%, a move criticised by consumer groups and the Unite union.

British Gas cunts sent a final settlement bill with their 'estimated ' reading of £70.

I gave them a 'non-estimated' reading and now they owe me.

When people protest that institutions like Gas and the Railways should be re-nationalised, and put back in our hands, the governmant ignore us. When some tinpot Northern Rock Bank goes tits up because the spiv bankers have gambled away the money, the Government is quite happy to nationalise it, and we end up paying for it to satisfy the greedy shareholders.

I switched to Atlantic Gas & Electricity a few months, based in Perth, Hugely significant cut in my bills. British Gas just openly take the piss but still people will read that, think to themselves "Thats fucking shocking" but will still contribute to their profits without a second thought.
