MikeCFC 45
Anybody been watching the follow up to the brilliant Life on Mars? This time the colourful Gene Hunt has to put up with DI Alex Drake(Keeley Hawes),a cop who is shot in 2007 and ends up in 1981. It's an excellent and clever series backed up by the fantastic music of 1981 where the New Romantics and Ska beat ruled over The Goths. Phillip Glenister is brilliant as Gene Hunt.If policing tactics today was just like the 1980's our streets would be alot safer. Whether Ashes to Ashes betters Life on Mars remains to be seen, but it's all good atm.

It has a few deliberate errors like Gene Hunt's Audi Quattro,i'm sure they did'nt come out until the mid to late 80's .But only a right fuss pot would complain about trivial things like that. yesterday's one was about an anti-Thatcherite that tried to put the mockers on the wedding of Charles and Di and a property developer that wanted to bulldoze Docklands to build offices. Did'nt you just love the 80's? i'm waiting for a TV series called 'China Girl'
changingman2000 35
I think its quality, Loved "Life on Mars" and this looks every bit as promising. One thing, Unless age is getting the better of me, I remember around August 1980, Earerly sitting around the radio at work at 1245pm on a Tuesday waiting to hear what number the next Jam single shot in at. As far as I can remember "START" went in at No 3, and Ashes to Ashes was at No1., Next week "START" was at NO2, Ashes to Ashes was still at No 1. Third week "START" was NO1 with Ashes to Ashes at No2. Either way, looks good for fun, loved the first one.

My favourite Black Jack's and Fruit chews only were a penny Pannini football stickers were only 5p a pack My fac comic(Beano) was 8p.Match magazine was 10p as was Roy of the Rovers. Knockdown ginger and British Bulldog were my favourite 'after school' games

Fulham Broadway 17,333
Preferred Life on Mars, but Im just biased because Jon Simm was in it. T'was a good prog. Slightly off track, but of the same era, ITV 4 are screening 'The Big Match' early and mid eighties games, with the late Brian Moore. Thing is the wankers tend to screen them on Thursday daytime. This month it's games from 1983, Mickey Hazard etc Quite funny the commentary, and when it kicks off in the crowd, the camera actually pans onto the terraces
