  1. As if we had had any opponent today. I've watched United 2nd half too and was exactly the same. Burnley and Hull didn't play football today. Conte could have played himself and we would still have won. Now, people who only see results will say it was a perfect lineup. I'm not talking about results. If we had the right players we would have scored eight (although we did could have scored a few more if Costa was sharper). This is called opinion, I'm not sure some of you are familiar with the concept... I don't agree with the lineup, simple as that. But we were playing Burnley at home for God's sake, not City in Manchester. Burnley was even worse than I predicted them to be. Still Matic and Oscar played some very stupid balls a few times. When the opposition is crappy is hard to say how much you did well and how much they did wrong. Fact is, except for Kanté - which is a huge addition - we are exactly the same as last year in terms of team and approach (few differences). When the match started it just become even clearer we didn't need both Matic or Oscar - choose whoever you want, only one. But I agree with whoever said they weren't as bad as they have been as of late. Agenda is for teenagers, I'm way to old to have agendas. I have opinions based on simple logic. Whether my logic is the same as yours, Conte's, or whoever is a different story. Whether someone's logic is right or wrong, doesn't matter, it's their way to view things. I know reasonable debate is beyond many people's reach, but I will stand by my stance. When did you guys become so reluctant (or lazy) to have an opinion and not just the old, tiring and useless common sense? So I see, we win, everything is perfect, then when we don't many of you come complaining of exactly the same choices and players. the same I posted during the match thread. Burnley didn't show up today. If anyone can't say they were awful in all things (defending, retaining the ball, attacking, counter-attacking) then I'm done here. My point continues to be the same. Mourinho and others before him were heavily criticized for choices like this. This is criticism to his tactical choices today, had we had a decent opponent we would have scrapped a win (if as much) like we did the other two matches. He will stick to Matic, Oscar and Kanté for a long time it seems and when it starts to pay the obvious dividends it will pay (to the opponents) people will complain about it. Some matches will ask for a more cautious approach, today wasn't one of those. A team that challenged Matic slightly had made him look clueless and useless just the other week. Oscar is unpredictable. Between poor and average he can be anything, with the odd good day every now and then. Go back a few months ago and this was consensus, but people will only see the results. To each their own. Now I even had to read in the match thread that all we needed was Batman and Kanté and that reinforcements to our defense is just an extra. This is beyond sad - not the lineup, the lack of critical sense and thinking
  2. Love Diego, have him in my fantasy team, but seriously, we need Barbshuayi
  3. OMG that corner and Hazard's finish made me come undone. Too bad we didn't score
  4. we should capitalize our good match and Burnley's awful showing to score a bunch of goals and improve our GD
  5. Diego's finishing today hasn't been as sharp as usual...
  6. no, any reinforcements in our defense aren't just extras, they're desperately needed if we must have any ambitions for the season at all.
  7. Clattenburg has only yellows for us it seems
  8. Willian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. we should have capitalized from when we were on fire and they were allowing us to dominate. Now it's balanced again and we might struggle to pressure them again
  10. but he isn't as bad as in the other matches, so I guess that's okay He played some nice balls there
  11. yeah because the way to protect the defense against a team that will not attack us constantly and will try to counter when they can is having two defensive and slow players with inept players to stretch defenses... I mean, for many matches I'll agree with the approach, today definitely not one of them, but as someone said up-thread, it's Burnley home, even with the nonsense we should win. Oh Eden, so unlucky now
  12. I love this version of Eden that takes responsibility and goes for the shot
  13. yes, let's protect the defense with SLOW players, against a team that will have 20389439584875546 players behind the ball. I mean, definitely a genius move, don't get why people are complaining at all.
  14. well, at least we won't top that in the short term after all it takes a long time to play 14 matches at home...
  15. Did Conte even watch Burnley against Liverpool? My patience is wearing thin with his insistence on playing Matic AND Oscar. We're playing a team that will sit and wait for us, and we have three fucking defensive players with Cesc - our only creative player - in the bench, playing at home nonetheless. I don't like comparisons in general, but Mourinho would have been crucified if he had opted for something like this. I don't know if it's stupidity, stubbornness or any dressing room situation we aren't aware of,but one of these days Diego and Barbshuayi won't be able to rescue us in the eleventh hour because our manager insists on picking the wrong players to have in the pitch. We already have problems with the lack of good players, playing two of our worst players in midfield against a team that won't threaten us has me slamming my head on the wall. I'm not advocating he should leave, that I'm unhappy with him or anything like that. I'm stating what is obvious to me: Conte has made mistakes in the lineup in all three matches we've played so far and it seems he's learned NOTHING from the previous two (especially against Watford). As if not having top players isn't enough, our coach insists on playing players that won't be needed for their defensive contributions (as if Matic has been contributing to anything, really) and leaving out the slightest spark of creativity we have, playing against a team that will sit and wait for us.
  16. Why do I feel the last play showed in the highlights tells us everything we need to know about his performance? He did cross for the first goal though, but the way he was easily dismissed by their player in the highlight play I mentioned is laughable.
  17. I just love how perfect our chants have been lately, kudos to those guys there making them up. IMO compared to the last managers we had, indeed he does it better, he makes me happy and he makes me feel this way (whatever way that is, but you know what I mean :P) I didn't watch the match today, but just seeing Azpili in the RB position as well as Aina in the LB position makes me overlook seeing Iva as a CB or RLC as a striker (I do hope Conte proves me right, but this insistence of playing Ruben as a striker makes no sense in my head, but at least the kid gets to play some minutes so I definitely won't complain). I was happily surprised by the lineup and hope to catch the match up somewhere, some time. I read a few posts after mine and I was having trouble multi-quoting, but I think I've made it clear that 1) He's making a few mistakes I feel come with the fact of being new at the league, but at least he's trying to correct them in the matches; 2) Matic played no relevant tactical role against Watford. As a MD, CM, B2B or whatever, not only he was tactically useless, but also had a weak presentation, especially supporting the attack - hence why Cesc's presence changed the game promptly and completely, 3) I am bitter about Ivanovic still being there. I thought it was a blessing in no-frigging-disguise when he got a knock in pre-season and was expected to miss three weeks (barely lost two). So take my comments on him with a pinch of salt as I'm really bitter and angry about seeing him there, whether he makes a mistake that costs us or not because we all know he's due to making one (or more in one single match) at any given moment. How did Aina do against Bristols?
  18. although the TV showed a yellow for Britos for that tackle on Hazard in the first, it looks like they got carried away about it and it doesn't exist. Everything else I stand by my words. With the pre-season Aina showed, why is Iva still there? Explain what was Matic role today? He wasn't the DM - that was Kante. He wasn't the B2B, Kante did some of that and so did Oscar. The moment he was subbed off it felt like we had one more player, although we still had 11 players. I said in one of the posts I understand Conte is new at the league and by that I meant he's probably trying to get the gist of it, and being more cautious, but he must be bolder in the future if we are aiming anything and I hope/think he will. It just I don't like to look like that kind of person that pretends everything is perfect when results are coming and then go from heaven to hell when the slightest thing goes wrong. Playing Iva will bite him in the ass eventually. There's no other way around it. We don't have creative players, Hazard is very talented, but not that much creative. If he continues to have Matic playing nothing, someday we won't have Costa scoring the winners (he might even be suspended lol). I just wanted to address that while I'm thankful for what he has merit, he also has a few problems to fix. Pointing those problems won't take away from him. I agree being carried away about not watching Chelsea. I can't stand see Iva's name in the lineup, but I wish I would be detached enough to stop watching. I won't... unfortunately because I get way fed up and riled up watching him.
  19. honey, I'm not trying anything. I want him out of the team, I'm not denying it, whether someone injures him, he injures himself, I don't care, I really wish someone would see the light and drop him, but it looks like only this would take him away as we are not selling and no matter who the manager is, they won't take him out. You have your views, great, I have mine. That's it. I'd rather him to be injured than playing, this is a sport, nothing else. He will still get his pay, he has a contract, he has a lot of money and titles and honors with Chelsea, but he's a huge detractor in the team. A few weeks in the bench won't kill him. If someone actually had balls, he would already be there, injury or not. I'll ignore the family comment because that's too ignorant to comment on. Maybe I have my strong opinion about how hard I want him out of the team, you're freaking out for nothing... so, what's new? Jesus has nothing to do with that, because that's a hyperbole. I child would have understood that As for my personal religions views, thanks for worrying, but Jesus has been clear only HE is going to judge people, so you have no power to say how much I know or not about his teachings. A tit for tat, I'm wishing the bad to someone and you're judging another person. It just shows the obvious, all people need mercy because they can't be good on themselves no matter what. Now, can someone, somehow get Ivanovic out of the team?
  20. Nothing. Didn't say break his leg, but if managers don't do it, let nature do it. If he stays a few weeks out he won't come back. So let me rephrase for the sensitive. For the love of Jesus let him have a muscular problem and be out. Sent from my SM-J700M using Tapatalk
  21. Conte fixed things... things he did wrong in the first place. There's merit fixing things, but he took a tad too long against West Ham to go all -attack (but I'm thankful he did) and today he had a bad lineup. I mean, he 's new at the league , but seriously what tactical role was Matic doing there? Why start Pedro when Moses has been better so far (although he did little to nothing since he came, but nobody would do worse than Pedro did today). Then there's the big question, if Cesc isn't starting this kind of game, what kind of game he is? We won't need Matic in those matches, especially if Oscar is in the match and can help Kante (as if he needs, but still). And for the love of Jesus, someone just do a criminal tackle on Iva because it seems like no manager has balls to actually bench him...
