  1. Wow how was that not a foul on Mata, and down the pitch we get called for a foul. Ridiculous. Only negative this game I see is Moses failing to pick anyone out in the passing game. Just awful.
  2. I have school but I'm only a part time student now. I'm finishing up my bachelors this semester while only taking 9 credits, so you can imagine the time I have off.
  3. I love when Chelsea play games mid week at 2:50 eastern time US, it makes watching the games so much easier. I hate waking up on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 or 10 am after a night of drinking. With that said this is a crucial 3 points and nothing should be satisfying unless we get the 3 points.
  4. This is laughable at best. Now that we have lost in the FA cup this is our only chance at silverware, and still some of you don't want to win it. What the hell are some of you guys smoking? All four of the clubs left in the competition are top class, and Basel has been shitting on the EPL the past few years, so it would be nice to knock a team out (that beat Man U and Spurs) and make the finals. These players are professional athletes, they should be up for every match, and try to win every possible trophy.
  5. I most likley will go depending on how many of my friends/roomates want to go. Yankee stadium is only 45 mins from me so I definitley am going to try and get tickets.
  6. They work pretty well in keeping the playing field level in American Sports. Every fan usually has at least one superstar to look forward to see playing, which cannot be said for the EPL where most of the lower table teams don't have any real world class players. But I agree I don't know what sort of measures the leagues of Europe could take, but something needs to be done with some of these ridiculous transfers and player wages.
  7. It's a combination of having the most talent, depth on the squad, and not catching the injury bug during important stretches of the season. Having depth and talent are most important though because if a central player goes down you can always have someone fill in right away and production should not drop off. As far as talent goes, to compete in the EPL, you need it. That's why over the next few years the only true contenders for trophy are City, Chelsea, Man U, and Spurs and Arsenal would have outside shots. That's why as an American I've always been confused as too why leagues in Europe do not implement as salary cap system. Money pretty much runs all the leagues of the world, whoever has the most of it fields an immense squad that the lower teams just cannot compete with over a full season.
  8. http://www.eplindex.com/26467/mata-v-silva-v-cazorla-creative-spaniards-stats-analysis.html That was written in February comparing Silva, Cazorla, and Mata. We all know Mata is better but statistically he also edges out Silva and Cazorla.
  9. He was a goal scoring machine at Liverpool. - 2x Euro - 1x World Cup - Golden Boot winner at Euro 2012 Look I'm not trying to defend that guy that much, he has definitely been subpar at Chelsea and that's all that really matters in this case. But you can't argue with his international achievements.
  10. So much hate for a player who is the most accomplished player on the Chelsea roster and it's not even up for discussion. I put the blame on both the midfield and Fernando for his scoring against mainly weak teams, and in all honesty the style we play does not fit a striker like Torres who needs through balls and uses his pace to beat defenders. Chelsea tries setting up around the penalty box way too much, rather then supplying Torres the ball a little past midfield. Just watch him play with Spain and you will see the difference.
  11. This is true, we should be able to retain that margin with that particular lineup. In my honest opinion the Europa league is still a notch above the EPL. One could make the argument that most teams in the Europa would be at least middle of the table EPL sides.
  12. Hey guys, just wondering if I'm the only one who does this. While playing fifa do any of you guys put your own hand up to signal a foul, or scream lampard at the top of your lungs while shooting with Frank. Might seem weird but after a few drinks I always do this.
  13. The USA will make it to the quarter finals (or farther) in the World Cup in 2014 under Klinsmann.
  14. New to the forum but I just don't get how so many people could care so little about this cup. I think being able to play some of the best teams in Europe is an awesome achievement even if it isn't the Champions League, and winning the Europa league is most definitely superior then an FA cup to me. Some of you guys make it seem like this is a weak competition but you forget so shortly that even after Chelsea were named "European champions" we were beaten badly by Aletico (the other European champions) who only won the little brother Europa league.
  15. Hey guys I've finally decided to join the forum after browsing through it for a few years now during match days. I'm from the US, I'm a NY Red Bulls fan first and foremost but Chelsea are my side in the EPL. I've been a fan ever since I got to see the team play in the United States during there 2009 US tour. Even though I'm a Red Bulls fan I manage to watch almost every Chelsea match and hopefully we can get a top 3 finish in the epl, an fa cup, and a Europa league title. Good day, and see you guys around on the forum.
