  1. I think selling Malouda and Drogba are obviously out of the question right now. Malouda in my opinion was the man of the match in the FA cup. I think a big part of his form as of late has been probably a matter of chemistry and timing with the team as well as not taking ridiculous shots from outside the box on the wing that inevitably sail meters over the goal. The passing between Malouda, Lampard, and Ashley Cole was beautiful to watch last Saturday. I'm just glad to find out he's no longer being shopped around. I think a 3 year deal would be wisest and that would provide us with the ability to sell him (if he returned to poor form) instead of losing him to a free transfer at the end of next year when his value might warrant incredibly high wages. On a final note watching Florent in the FA cup is truly a pleasure and this is coming from Florent's biggest hater pre-Hiddink.
  2. And a 29 year old Schevchenko is so different from a 19 year old Pato. Honestly what similarities do you see between the two players aside from both playing for Milan?
  3. Anyone here have an opinion on the board giving the job to Ray? Certainly would help with continuity.
  4. Great finish to the soccer season. Gotta love seeing all the guys having fun and really playing well together. Anelka and Malouda have been incredibly impressive this year. Drogba is dominant as ever... I could go on but man what an end to the season. Now onto next season when is preseason starting?
  5. Man I about had a heart attack when that ball popped up to Saha. Drogba was brilliant and Malouda has been creating wonderfully. Hopefully it continues with the sub they just put in.
  6. Come on Chelsea!!! F these toffees up. I just got myself up for this 10am match... ordered an 09/10 France Makelele kit last night (sadly it won't be here for 2 weeks). We need to silence that afro'd freak Pienaar.
  7. I just said I'm not opposed to him staying. To put it another way I'm indifferent to whether he stays or leaves. The only thing I'm strongly opposed to is him taking Alex's starting spot away next year, which under no circumstances should happen. But what is his valuation like 6 million pounds? Is it worth it to sell him? I for one thing Riccy's worth more than 6 million.
  8. I'm not opposed to Carvalho staying. The only thing I'm opposed to right now is Carvalho staying and the next manager choosing him in the starting lineup instead of Alex. Alex is way too big of an offensive and defensive weapon to be on the bench any longer. I don't think it'd be a bad idea to keep Riccy on in case of injury or suspension (with the latter being a definite certainty). I guess that's what Ivanovic is for and his Serbian buddy Slobodan Rajkovic and Michael Mancienne are for though. Hopefully Rajkovic returns from his loan at FC Twente and gets some playing time as he seems to have plenty of potential.
  9. Why get rid of Kalou and Belleti who add some serious depth to our squad? Also Miniero is not gonna fetch 1 million lol and did we sign him to a multi-year contract? If so WHY?
  10. Indianapolis, used to go to school in bloomington, but i'm from indy.
  11. I'd say the only reason the juries out on Aguero is because of his shit finishing. The guy can create, watch a few Atletico games on GolTV and you'll see he gets past the back line of the defense at least 5 times per match. There's a reason why Forlan won the Golden Boot: Aguero. Aguero certainly is capable of playing winger as well.
  12. Well I see your point. I would put Aguero under the world class listing (just needs someone to teach him how to finish). Iniesta will never leave Barcelona. David Villa I see making a move to another La Liga team before he moves to England. Would love to get Ribery or Kaka but I question our ability to coax them out to Stamford Bridge. Of all the world class players out for sale I think the most likely if we pushed hard enough would be Tevez if we could offer MSI ~5 million pounds more than United will. I know Tevez will be pining for a transfer to scouseland, but I really think we need to make a big push. Him playing alongside Drogba would be nearly unstoppable. Two very highly motivated powerful Strikers.
  13. Sell: Ballack Claudio Pizarro Deco and maybe Ricky Carvalho to Intermilan Buy: Edin Dzeko or Araunovich and Daniel Sturridge Yuri Zhirkov Yoanne Gourcuff and my last hope: Kün Agüero for a future striking partnership between him and Franco edit: by the way thank god we fucked up the Alves signing. He's one of my most hated players up there with Christiano.
  14. I can't believe there isn't a thread on here about Ballack. In my opinion, he's gotta go this summer. His wages are what 120,000? There are far too many matches where Essien and Mikel are forced to play in the holding role because for whatever reason Hiddink still thinks Ballack is our best option at Central Mid. Ballack has been incredibly painful to watch this year. He has no power on his shots anymore, plays piss poor defense, and is holding back some of our other players from getting time in midfield. His passing which always looks fantastic for Germany has been so hit and miss with him playing all kinds of balls straight for the defender. When he got his 2nd yellow in the 2nd leg of the Barca match I was actually thrilled because I can't stand seeing the man in our Starting XI. He has 1 year left on his contract right? I'm not opposed to him staying next year as long as the new manager doesn't decide to keep sticking him in the starting XI, but for my own sanity I'd like to see him sold this summer. I'm not sure who would be willing to pay for his wages, but selling him back to Bayern (either Munich or Leverkusen) would be wonderful. This might also give Joe Cole that chance to play in the midfield role more often next to Frank. Sincerely, Ballack's Biggest Hater
  15. Was born here . Just graduating from "University" in a year or so then moving to California, Colorado, Brooklyn, Amsterdam, or Spain for graduate school.
  16. Perhaps the .16m he has on Elia? Given we are a team of set pieces and we already have players similar to Elia (Kalou, Malouda).
  17. Can't wait for next season... it's been a great and tough last few months of the season. Can't wait til Guus returns after 2010
