  2. It will be interesting watching Luiz in the coming weeks - for me he was the most improved Chelsea player the other night. He was always dashing but seems to have tamed that 'rush of blood to the head' tendency. As they say, a mature and assured performance.
  3. A great second half and a good result. The positives: Torres, Lampard, Luiz The negatives: Overrun in midfield at times, wrong subs Chelsea could have scored three or four goals (at least one of Torres' shots, one of Ramires or Anelka's - both 1-on1 with the goalkeeper and a decent shout for a penalty. Valencia were lucky with the penalty but deserved something out of the game. With th erelatively easy Genk games coming next Chelsea are well positioned. Glad for Kalou's sake we were not at home. Everyone needs a scapegoat but I can only ponder that he got a nudge and his hand went out as an instinctive balancing motion. Why would he do it deliberately?
  4. Thank you Carlo (for the double and continuing the upward thread after Hiddink's short stint. Looking at it in the cold light of the stats, it was a foregone conclusion. I have kept five stats from 2004 on and this season comes bottom on all but one. Bottom for: Winning Run: 6 (joint with 2009)Bottom for non-losing run: 7Bottom for the number of non-scoring games: 11Bottom for Total Clean Sheets: 20The only one that is not bottom is Clean Sheet Run: 5 - beaten by Ancelotti himself last year with a clean sheet run of 4.
  5. Thanks for the pics folks and especially Ivanovic's son scoring his goal. Dad got six this season - not bad for a defender. Thanks to the team. I must say I'm looking forward to the season's end and a fresh start next August. Finally, congratulations to United for their deserved PL title and I hope they destroy Barca next week.
  6. RE: Chelsea Manager "I understand that people are interested - me too" Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti on his future at Stamford Bridge Good man Carlo, a bit of humour is always welcome.
