The game was awful and the result is a big positive, but what really leaves a sour taste in my mouth is how Lukaku must be feeling... Really feel for the lad! From his interviews you could tell he was really pumped for this game and really, bringing Torres on makes NO SENSE, Jose! Especially with the prospect of Eto'o or Rooney still joining the squad, he must be feeling gutted. Not the best psychological move from Mourinho, imo...
-
Have to say I really perceive this game to be one giant anti-climax... As if the fist half wasn't bad enough, torres in stead of lukaku coming on was just The list of inadequacies today is endless... Still love the team!! Just diasppointed
-
I believe yes, you are the only one
-
I think Oscar could definitely play in the pivot, seeing his first rate defensive skills... Just look at where he was playing mostly during the Villa game! Not sure if mourinho would agree with me though
-
i just spent the past 45 minutes watching videos of the player and really; MIND-BOGGLING signing if it happens, so hope it's true! We would have a Hazard-quality player on the right flank, with our existing players it would make an attacking midfield to drool over: ST Hazard (Schurrle) Mata (KDB) Willian (SCH/KDB) Oscar (Lampard) Ramires (Essien) DEFENCE Just think of the devestating implications if we add Rooney then to our squad. This signing might effectively mean the end of Mikel and Moses though... Definitely sad for Moses! We're going to win the league-league-league leagleagleague

I personally was very inmpressed when I watched him play last season, but it's lunacy in my mind to buy another attacking midfielder. It's the segment of our team where we need the least reinforcement. Buy a top DM-player or bring another defender (the ST position is too redundant to even bring up), but Willian? It only makes sense if we're using one of our existing AM players as bargaining chips to procure a different kind of reinforcement elsewhere in the team. Mata for Rooney? looking more likely right about now...

Game changed completely when Lukaku (and Schurrle) came on. Hazard and Oscar came back into the game as well! How good is Benteke though? Just sell Ba and get him, already!
-
Ba is having a horrendous first half, f*ing abysmal. Getting rather frustrated right now. Come on hazard; get back in it... might have disappeared because he got fouled rather harshly a few times?
-
Seriously people, some serious exaggerating going on here... Lukaku missed an open chance, check. The ball was, I daresay, played too hard, but that doesn't count. Check. His first half was bad, check. The fact he had Koscielny and Sagna breathing down his neck the whole time... doesn't count! check. Which I hardly read on here, however, is that his second half was very promising and he actually started outsmarting his defenders, linking up and creating chances for his teammates. He should get stick for his first half but the way he came out again has to count for something. I for one thought France was tough as nails and Belgium had a bad day, as a team! We still could and should've won though, but there's always Brasil for that Lukaku top scorer after this weekend, you heard it here first!; 5β¬ up for grabs to the first one who wants to bet on it!

*Sigh* This is by far the longest draught of info I've ever had to suffer. Just give my thirsting soul the news already! Yes or no! Heaven+ or just heaven! I can't take this suspended state of twilight any longer, having to scroll through page upon page without actually reading something substantial... Frustrating doesn't even come close, lads! *head explodes with impatience*
-
That was 23 minutes(?) of all-out awesomeness from Hazard; Ramires was the key changing in my opinion though. Mikel - Essien were just... *sigh*, I would give anything to see Mikel replaced in the squad by someone like de rossi. My favourite team to start against Hull is definitely: Cech Luiz Ivanovic Azpilicueta Cole/Bertrand MVG/Essien Ramires Oscar/KDB Mata Hazard Lukaku With the players before the / being my first choice, and the ones behind it close runners up. Peace brothers, am ANXIOUSLY awaiting the first whistle to blow

One thousand likes for you good sir and a bottle of champagne for the lot of ya!

They were horribly physical on him, all game. Tugging his shirt blatantly at times, to me it was a disgrace, I tell you. Bloody REAL vermin has got to learn to play by the rules, both on Γ nd off the pitch.

Cheers, mate! If you had been living near Antwerp I'd have bought you a drink for sure or we should've watched the game together! Have a great one yourself; memento mori, carpe diem! And on to a fantastic year of football... Edit: pardon me good sir, I just saw how respectable your age is on your profile , so I believe that merits a slightly different phrasing from my part Have you been a Chelsea-fan all your life? Enjoy the day with your loved ones and have a fantastic health this year! If you ever come to Antwerp, I'll definitely buy you a drink!

Game will be played on my birthday so am expecting every Belgian on the pitch to score at least once with a final score of 6-0. Anything less and I'll be disappointed!
-
Completely agree on that. I just rewatched the game (yes, I'm slacking horribly at work today but couldn't care less) and the runs that Lukaku made in the opening 15 minutes were really good imo. The problem was no one ever gave him the ball in the openings that were there. On a contrary, sloppy defensive triangular passing was opted. I feel his animo went down after those non-reciprocated runs at the start, and his attitude became much more languid as the half passed on. So yea, he had very few good touches but then again, he had very few touches. No way you can judge him on yesterday's performance, really. Apart from the fact that this drop in energy after the 20 minutes shouldn't have happened, he did ok.

So guys, I got up last night to watch the game and must say, I'm rather regretting having done so right now, since I arrived at work after 4.5 hours of broken sleep... - woe me, where have those eternal college days gone... like summer rain through the mountains!- I couldn't sleep at first, but later took solace in the fact that Madrid really are like the Navy Seals of football. Well, maybe not really since SEALS get trained as a unit, and Real players are bought hoping to become a unit, but you know what I mean. No one gets into the REAL team until they're accomplished stars, with a club policy that splurges exorbitant amounts of (tax!) money without thinking twice. I thought Spanish football, much like the country, had reached in a state of financial crisis? Must not have reached the capital... What's more is that last night, in stead of a spoiled, sulking collective of ego's we saw an overly motivated group coming together as a unit to get back at Mourinho. Ronaldo really bossed it and I couldn't much flaw their performance. Lets' face it, a REAL team on fire like that can only be overcome either by something very special or a stroke of luck. Neither of which we conjured up last night... So guys, I know emotions always run high when we combine sleep-deprivation with losing, but rather than giving the (majority of our) players who underperformed last night too much stick, let's keep our chins up, the blue flags wafting from above, and find peace in one of life's truest creeds; that sometimes you win, and sometimes you learn. If anything, this has given Mourinho the amunition he needs to improve the squad. Blue regards from a walking zombie,
-
I don't know about you guys but that was a lot of good stuff in about 5 minutes of football. He's definitely first team material - rough on the edges though he may be....
-
I have to say this was one solid game by the big man ... Pace, energy, decent passing, holding the ball up front better as well... O, and two goals! 4 Chelsea goals in 3 matches that is, but I liked his overall peformance most this last match... Bring on the big squads already and give the kid a challenge!
-
that was easy ... Luka KU 4 goals in 3 games
-
Brilliant play Lukaku - Ramires IS god today
